Trying to survive
An up-to-date account of my first year teaching and coaching...
Hanging on
Well, it's been a month, and it couldn't be real without a threat from a parent to get me fired.  Ha, seriously.  Yesterday we had a volleyball tournament and one girl on the team wasn't played because she told me Friday that she was "too busy" to make it to practice (and trust me when I say that she needs the most practice).  She told her Mom she thought practice was cancelled when I had told her personally it was at 6pm.  She's a sly liar that one.  So, her Mom called me.  Irate.  I was very proud of myself...very calm.  Then I called my principal and gave her the heads up.  Needless to say the woman is a nutjob and her daughter I really should've kicked off the team awhile ago.

The tournament was somewhat of a disappointment.  We won once.  Lost quite a bit.  But, we played better than we have all year, there were many close matches.  It's obvious they're improving.

So tonight I have to make 3 tests.  My 7th, 8th and 10th graders are having a test tomorrow.  The 8th grade test will be the most difficult to make since I'll have to make it up entirely by myself.  Yay buddy.

Well, I'm sick.  Sneezing and sniffing.  My printer's being slow and I have work to do.  I'm really gonna try to keep this more up-to-date though.

:)
