Who's Who? and What's What?

The Bride & Groom

We got engaged July 23, 2004 on the Odyssey in Boston Harbor. It was the most wonderful night of my life to date, and I could not in my wildest imagination pictured a more perfect proposal. After the dinner cruise, Matt surprised me with a room at the Boston Harbor Hotel overlooking the harbor. The room was covered in rose petals, and he had a dozen red roses, champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for me.

The happy couple on July 23rd!

And the shameless picture of 'the ROCK'!! It's gorgeous, isn't it? And he picked it out all on his own!

And for those Boston Knotties, here's a pic of Fi and I in Red Sox attire, watching Game 1 of the Series while we were down in Aruba. Go Sox!!

The Bridesmaids & Flower Girl

Carolyn is my Matron of Honor. She is also my cousin! Carolyn was married in 2003 in Disney so she's been through all the details of wedding planning before. She's been a big help to me so far. This picture is from this past New Year's Eve!

Krista is one of my bridesmaids. Krista and I met on the very first day of orientation at Penn State, and she is my closest friend from there. She lives in LA now, so we rarely get to see each other. I was lucky enough to get out there this past October though to visit with her. It was my first time in LA, and I have to say it's such a cool city. We had someone take this photo of us at Maple Drive in Beverly Hills.

Emily (I finally have a digital picture of her! Pictured here w/ Krista.) is my best friend from high school. She moved away after we graduated in 1996, so we don't get to see each other very often. She came up to visit this past summer and met Matt for the first time...only a couple weeks before we got engaged. And she gave a big stamp of approval!

Matt's Nieces Caitlin (pink & white striped shirt) and Briana (blue and white striped shirt) are bridesmaids. Matt's niece Greta (pink shirt) is our flower girl. This picture was taken in August when we took some of Matt's nieces and nephews bowling.

Stacy (on left) and Brenda (on right) are bridesmaids in our wedding. Stacy and I work for the same company and met at work. Brenda and Stacy are best friends from high school, and I met Brenda through Stacy.

The Ushers and Ring Bearer

Matt's brother Mark (far right) is his best man, and his brother, Myles (far left) is an usher. Also pictured are Matt's parents and his sisters, Melissa (in green) and Kate (in yellow).

Matt's cousin Phil is one of the ushers. Here he is pictured with Matt's sister, Kate.

My brothers, Marc (far left) and Joe (2nd from left) are ushers as well. Also pictured, are my parents.

Matt also has five friends who will be ushers (photos to be added soon). Kevin, a lifetime friend; Scott and Mikey, friends since junior high; Jay, a friend since high school; and Nick, a friend since college. So, yes, we are having TEN ushers!!

Matt's nephew, Myles III is our ring bearer. Here he is, pictured with Greta (the flower girl) on a bowling outing in March.

Ceremony

The ceremony will be held at St. Thecla's Catholic Church in Pembroke, Massachusetts.

Reception

The reception will be held at
Indian Pond Country Club in Kingston, Massachusetts. We had decided before we were engaged that we would love to have our reception at this site. The day after we got engaged, we went to IPCC to see what dates were available. As luck would have it, a couple had canceled earlier in the week, and the only Saturday night date available from April until October was July 16, 2005. We booked it! The site is absolutely beautiful. We had our tasting in mid-November, and we were totally impressed. The decor, food, and service were excellent.

Here is a picture of the ballroom.

Added more pictures of the site!!

This is where the cocktail hour will be.

The ballroom

The floor-to-ceiling windows line the ballroom. Our sweetheart table will be right in the middle.

Bridal Gown & Accessories

I will be wearing the Maggie Sottero 'Cleo' dress. It was the last dress I tried on. I was actually finished trying on dresses, and Matt's nieces (both bridesmaids) were trying on bridesmaid dresses. My mom happened to notice a dress hanging on the wall. We both thought it was pretty, but I was exhausted from trying on so many dresses. About ten minutes later, I decided to just try it on. I put it on, and tears welled up in my eyes...it was THE dress!

Pictures from my first fitting with Chris O'Hare! I love the bustle!

This is a picture of me in the dress, along with Matt's nieces Briana & Caitlin.

Hair & Makeup Trial

11/30/04: I went to the
Eugene Thomas Salon for a hair (Erica Galanek) trial. I was very impressed! My cousin (also my MOH) cried after it was done. Here are some pictures.

Picture from makeup trial with Stephanie Noyes. I love how the trial came out. I'm so excited for her to do my makeup on the wedding day!

Transportation

We are using
All Star Limo in Kingston, MA. We rented a 26-passenger limo bus to transport the wedding party. My parents and I will travel to the church in a 6-passenger limo, and Matt & I will join our wedding party on the party bus for the trip from the ceremony to the reception.

Reception Band

We have booked the band
Rare Form through Entertainment Specialists. Our contact, Barbara was extremely helpful.

Photography

We booked Rene and Melissa Tirado, of
Tirado Photo out of Lynn, Massachusetts. Of the vendors booked so far, I am most impressed with Rene and Melissa. Their work was excellent, and they were just so easygoing that I know they'll make us feel so at ease on our wedding day. Other Knotties on the Boston Boards rave about them as well.

Videography

We booked
Video Visions Forever out of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Tim is such a professional, and my mother and I decided to book him that very same day. His work that we viewed is excellent, and his pricing is very inclusive and reasonable.

Florist & Flowers

We chose our florist!!! Maria Harrington of
Secret Eden Flowers is available for our date, and we were so excited to book her! Her work looks beautiful, and her pricing is extremely reasonable.

I love this bouquet. I believe this pic is from another knottie's bio, so if you'd like me to remove it, or if you'd like credit, please page me on the Boston boards.

Cake

My aunt will be making our cake. We'd like something simple. White cake, white vanilla frosting, and pink roses. Here are 2 pictures of the cake she made for her daughter's wedding in April 2005. The cake topper has made its way through the family. My aunt/uncle used it on their cake, my parents used it on their cake, and my cousin used it on her cake. Fi & I will also have the cake topper on our cake.

Bachelorette Party

Following my surprise shower, my MOH & BMs threw me a fantastic bachelorette party! Fi booked a limo for me & the 8 girls who came out. We went to Tony & Maria's Comedy Wedding, and it was just SO much fun (despite getting doused with AquaNet)!. My best friend from college & my brother's girlfriend made me a veil. My brother's girlfriend also brought me an 'adult-themed' cake from Sweet & Nasty. Here are a couple pictures from the evening!

Wedding Party Gifts

Groom's Gifts ~ Bridesmaids Gifts ~ Groomsmen Gifts ~ Flower Girl Gifts ~ Ring Bearer Gifts ~ Readers Gifts ~ Program Attendants Gifts ~ Parents Gifts ~ Grandmothers Gifts

Groom's Gifts

Fi is a huge history buff. We will be traveling to Hawaii for our honeymoon, but had no plans to to stop over in Oahu. I think it would be a shame to travel all that way and not visit Pearl Harbor. So, as fi's 'big gift', I booked a day trip to Oahu. We'll fly from Maui to Honolulu on
Hawaiian Airlines early one morning. We'll visit Pearl Harbor first and leave the rest of the day to explore Waikiki and Diamond Head. We fly back to Maui in time for a late dinner. Considering how much Fi enjoys history, I think he will really appreciate this gift. I will be giving him his gift at the rehearsal dinner.

His second (and smaller gift) is a bit more sentimental. I bought him cufflinks, engraved with his monogram (www.bluenile.com). The cufflinks are wrapped and enclosed in a small valet box, which is engraved with his name (www.bridesvillage.com). His best man will give him this gift, along with a card on the morning of our wedding.

Bridesmaids Gifts

Temporarily removed in case the BMs are peeking!!

Groomsmen Gifts

Fi did a great job picking out these gifts. We have 1 Best Man, 9 ushers, and 1 male reader. Six of the ushers and the male reader will be receiving personalized cribbage boards (www.cribbageboard.com). The remaining 4 ushers will receive monogrammed large-size duffel bags from LL Bean (www.llbean.com)

Flower Girl Gifts

The FG (age 7) will be receiving the same tote bag as the BMs. Inside, there will be a personalized beach towel (www.lillianvernon.com), her jewelry for the wedding day (clip-on earrings and a pearl bracelet from www.partytimejewelry.com), a personalized FG purse (www.bridesvillage.com), bubble bath, and flip flops (www.oldnavy.com). Pictures of the jewelry and the bubble bath to be posted soon.

Ring Bearer Gifts

Our RB (age 6) will be receiving an initialed LL Bean backpack (www.llbean.com) and a personalized towel from Lillian Vernon (www.lillianvernon.com).

Reader Gifts

Our two female readers will be receiving black frames (www.thingsremembered.com), personalized with their monogram. No picture available.

Program Attendant Gifts

Three of Matt's nephews will be serving as program attendants at the wedding. Since they are all active in sports, we purchased sports duffel bags (www.ebags.com) as their gifts.

Parent Gifts

For our wonderful parents, who have been so great not only through the wedding planning, but also throughout our lives...we wanted to give them something special. Each set of parents is receiving dinner tickets on
Odyssey Cruises and an overnight stay at the Nine Zero hotel.

Grandmother Gifts

For our wonderful grandmothers, we purchased keepsake frames from Kohl's. We will give each a wedding picture to place in the frame after the wedding.

DIY Table Runners

10 of the 28 table runners are complete. I'll be honest...these things are a b*tch to make! Hints: buy a sewing board w/ measurements on it; it's impossible to get them straight otherwise; also, use stitch witchery to secure the seams. I had planned on sewing the hem, but the thread looked terrible. The stitch witchery is much more effective. I'll have them pressed a couple days before the wedding. The material is dupioni silk from
Denver Fabrics.

DIY Card Box

I spent about two hours sewing the cover for this card box and assembling it. Considering that I'm probably the least crafty person on this earth, I'd say it turned out half-decent. Fi's very creative & artistic sister and niece helped me decorate it. I think they did a fabulous job!

After the decorating...
