THE CATHOLIC SCHOOL DAYS
Ok, so i realized it wasnt fair to disclude PC altogether.  It was an alright place for the most part.   In third grade, we didnt have enough kids to make two classes--- so, we were all put together in one SUPER CLASS.  That was the way it remained until 8th grade, or until you jumped the PC raft.   Anyway, when you have a small class year after year you get to know each other pretty darn well.  For me, 6 girls didnt cut it- thats why i went TJMS with two of my friends in 8th grade.   and it was a good time to do it too.

When i got to highschool, i already knew all of the PC kids and most of the TJMS kids, so that was pretty nice.   After a few years, we forgot who was pc and who was tjms.  Even though we all split in different social groups, I could always pick up a conversation with one of my PC pals.

In the above picture, Rebecca Bolz and I are modeling some seal bodies at the zoo.  We  are in third grade.  We went on a lot of field trips at port catholic too...   For instance, when we didnt feel like learning religion or science, our teacher would take us down to the gym to play battleball.   We also had parties 2 times a week in celebration of whatever happened to be in the news... birthdays, the superbowl, you name it.  Later, we brought that party spirit to highschool and impressed it on our TJ friends who were rookies.    (..and senora koch wondered how our class could keep partying!)
One more thing.   In first grade, there were TWO Katies.   Me, and Katy Frame.  Our teacher, Sister Angeleen Brill, told us that one of us had to go by our formal name because she didnt want to confuse us.   SO, of course, (since katy was the teachers pet) I had to be Kathryn.   I dont think Kathryn is that terrible of a name now, but back then, it was torture.  When i heard Kathryn, i thought nun. I didnt want catholic school to brainwash me into being a nun.  So, all the PC kids called me Kathryn.  When i went to TJ, that was the first thing i threw.  I wanted to be Katie again.
