A Celebration of Peace and Friendship May 5-23, 2005

The 2005 edition of the Ottawa Tulip Festival will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of Second World War. In recognition that the Tulip is the official flower of the city of Ottawa, the Tulip Art Festival will also feature 2 remarkable Tulip Gardens:

The Tulip Art Garden-made of extraordinary 5-foot fibreglass tulips painted by Ottawa artists, and The Tulip Community Garden-made of delightful 20-inch wooden tulips painted by school children.

Events:
Commissioners Park-Dows Lake (May5-23,2005)

More than 300,000 tulips will be in bloom at Commissioner Park during the festival.

Dows Lake Parade of Lights (May21,2005)

Casino de Hull Parade of Lights will feature colourful, illuminated boats parading on Dows Lake highlighted by a pyrotechnic display.




Flotilla on the Rideau Canal-Dows Lake (May22,2005)

Parade on Water
The Clarica Flotilla on the Rideau Canal, the Festival's ever popular and colourful parade on water, will Salute Britain with up to 75 spectacularly decorated boats entertaining a hundred thousand people lining the historic canal.




Major's Hill Park (May13-23,2005)

There will be various children programs taking place on Major's Hill Park including face painting, pie eating contest with great prizes...etc




Casino du Lac-Leamy (May5-23,2005)

At the Casino du Lac-Leamy there will be a fire works display on Saturday, May21,2005 starting at 9 P.M. All through the 3 weeks there will be hot air balloons available for the public to enjoy.




Tulip Explosion-Hilton Lac-Leamy (May5-23,2005)

Hilton Lac-Leamy is the host of Tulip Explosion, the festival's exciting flower and design show.
