Born to Rosaline and Jason Ellis a lower class couple living in Long Beach California. Dominic was a wild child, very hard to control & with a short attention span. Always active he got involved with a street gang in junior high, and got into trouble with petty theft and vandalism. His parents at their wits end enrolled him in to a local 'boot camp' for troubled kids when he was 15. He excelled in the military high school, and at 17 he joined the military. After boot camp he was selected to become part of Unit 332 of the US Army Rangers (2002). They were soon after deployed to Japan to observe what was going on in China. Over the next year they did many runs into China collecting information on the new regime. 2004 this unit was selected to try out some new combat drugs (which increased magic/psionic activity). The drugs triggered erratic and unreliable psionic abilities in most of the members of the unit. After a number of runs gone bad the US military abandon the project, and sent the unit on a one way mission into China 2006. Without the drugs the unit had been withdraw symptoms started appearing in the unit (paranoia, hallucinations, and heart problems in those without latent psi abilities). Most of his squad was killed or died from withdraw but Dom survived in the jungle for a while. Eventually he was taken as prisoner by the Orientani who used opium to counter some of the remaining effects of the military drug. He was kept in a relative stupor and was used as a power source for the Orientani mages. Over the next year plus he slowly became immune to the drugs keeping him in a stupor and started planning his escape. Late 2007 he attempted to escape, and managed to loose himself for one week in Chengdu (a large Chinese city). He was tracked down by Orientani mages and recaptured. His hand and arm were placed in a meat grinder as punishment for escape. In 2008 he was rescued by IS 51 Unit 018 (Peter's unit). Despite his disabilities (the missing hand, and the remaining drug addictions) he was taken on as a trainee. 2011 Dom was placed into active duty, and soon proved his worth. In 2015 he meet Heather Douglas - The director in charge of Northern Australia and the Indo China area (also an accomplished healer). They both found themselves attracted to each other, and after a year of floundering (due to the disparity in rank and personality problems on both sides) they started dating. They were married 2016. Dom mainly works out of the IS 51 Brazeau River Base (The main IS 51 training base) mostly to solve any problems that his marriage could cause in Australia. On his off time he creates, acquires, and sells a range of 'illegal' drugs to various base operatives. The company puts up with this sideline of his because it allows them to unofficially make certain drugs useful to their occupation available; and they can watch to see if any of their operatives have drug problems and keep track of it medically. Dom has slowly risen in rank over the last 4 years and was made director or Central and South America in August 2020. He replaces Jose Bernal who was killed by Morven (a demon) after relaying more solid information about the Black day bombing to IS 51 headquarters. |
