In this story, the person was asked not just to sell their own "quota" of bottles, but to help the others in the group to sell theirs as well. You are supposed to work for the team until you have the opportunity to turn your back on them and take all the profits for yourself. The psychological manipulation is staggering.

This is my story:

I was about to go on my second group "meeting" after being "hired". I had
already sold 10 bottles to my family and friends and was about to make the
company approx. 300 dollars. The office manager Rich Young gave us a "spur of
the moment" contest stating that whoever sold the most bottles would get 300
dollars, second place was 200, and third was 100. He also stated that we
would get 7 dollars on per bottle we sell. To sweeten the deal he said that
whatever number we sell we he would double it and subtract it from the 50
bottles we had to sell that they say isnt a quota but just a number. So I
proceeded to try and sell twenty five bottles so that I wouldnt have to sell
anymore, however when I called the other "manager", R.J. Hunter, he said that
I would then have to show how I can be a "team player" by helping everyone
else sell their bottles. On the street there is a name for being paid under
the table (because mind you we hadnt signed the first w-2), going out on to
the streets and selling products that were using the designers name but were
knockoffs. That name is call HUSSLING. I am not a hussler I am a college
student trying to make some money during the summer so that I wont have to go
to my family for everything when I return to school. I dont like to be made a
fool of so I have contacted the local news station and will be contacting
EVERY business out there that can help rid my state and others of these scam
artists. Therefore I am writing to you to let you know that I am on your side
and yes, they are still operating and scamming. The other "manager's" name is
Christine Franzik a self-proclaimed ex-crack addict. This office is in
Virginia Beach, VA. I hope to help any of those out there who made the
mistake of falling for this scam.

Thank you VERY MUCH!!
