I found this email interesting because the person in question is the same age as I am, and he seems to support the direct marketing business model, claiming it only requires "hard work." I have not received word back as to his current relationship with the company and whether he still feels the same way about their business practices.

I am a 24 year old, I saw the ad in the paper so I went & got hired. I have
been here for a week. I don't see anything ethicly wrong with it. Yes it is
very hard work & yes you will be broke at first unless you can make alot of
sells. Yes alot of people will leave, yes they make it sound fluffy, when it
is not at first. All advertisements do that though, make it seem better than
it is. How many suv's(Sports Utility vehicals) do you see in swimming in the
water, none. But they have comercials that show suvs swimming in the water or
dishwashing liquid that instantly breaks up grease on contact. That is How
companies advertise.
In the Article you said they are vague & or might lie about the job
descrition, yes they were vague, but when I asked Will we be going biz to biz
selling?, and do we get paid other than commision?, they answered yes to the
peddling part & no to the getting paid ?, So they did not lie
to me, but when your promoting a product, you use the strong points not the
weak points, How many car advertisments Tell you that you may get killed if in
a wreck, none! To me they are just promoting what you CAN achieve.
Next: When I was hired I knew it was sentura products being distributed
by the company Elite promotions, there was no cover up at all, in fact the
office has posters all over advertising the Perfume.
Sentura is just the manufacturer & creator of the products. The office
that distributes the perfume handles they're taxes. So if they are not paing
taxes off the sales that is not sentura's fualt, that is the offices fualt &
they sould be dealt with.
About renditions: Alot of companies make rendition perfume, that is not
illegal. And I personally think sentura's renditions are better than most of
the other's out there.
About FFAR: I agree that that makes fast sells for the company, but is
there anything wrong with that isn't that what buisness is all about making
money, If the people quit the job becuase they don't like hustling perfume
around, that is not the companys fault the guy did not like the job & quit. I
made 15 sells to my family that same night all them where happy with their
product.
the pyramid scheme: I was aware that that was what the
company is all about from my first day of training(but not the interview).
Alot of companies work that way & yes to make it in the pyramid scheme you
have to be good at the buisness(not just average)but I see nothing wrong with
that.
About Soliciting: last time I checked Soliciting was not illegal. If
stores don't want any soliciting that is their american right, Just as it is
senturas right to go from biz to biz promoting the perfume, until it infringes
on the right of the company that does not want soliciting in there store. I
have been stoped by several police and security guards that told me no
soliciting, i pack my bags & leave. But I see alot of people don't mind it
even if they don't buy anything in fact some ask me to come back later when
they get paid. Yes there are people that don't like it & that is their right
Bottom Line: I do not know if this will work for me, it may not. I may not
have the selling skills required, & yes I did not make alot of money lastweek
(first week)but i did have fun & I like atmosphere. If I decide to quit cuase
I don't see any potentiual opertunity for me &or I am not a good salesman that
is not their fualt. Yes this is a very hard buisness to succeed in, but I
don't think is a Scam. I think it is capitalism at its best.
P.s. Please respond
Donny
