Bat Col & Gail go Scotty on our Ass...

hello everyone...

update time again... and this time complete with updated contact details for us should you want to send presents, postcards, singin telegrams, or just call. {edited for privacy reasons ! - besides, they've moved.}

Yay! home sweet home. We have a lovely little flat, just we two, fully furnished and complete with "under the sea" fouly decorated bathroom. Our next major purchase is an airbed to allow for the many many visitors we hope to be visiting Scotland's capital, and more importantly us, in the next while. Tollcross is a great area - 10 minutes walk from Princes Street (read central Edinburgh for those not in the know) and full of cool cafes, cinemas, antiquey shops and very close to The Meadows - a huge park (where I have witnessed people in Canterbury tops playing touch even). More importantly for Col, the park is next to The "Links" - a 36 short-hole golf course - free to anyone who happens to have a golf ball and club on them. Col is in his element. And we have a private undercover carpark, which is like gold in this part of town, even though our money-sucking escort barely deserves it.

And even more in the settling department, half of us are now gainfully employed... As of monday, I dive once more into the depths of financial services - taking up an 8 month contract with Scottish Widows (what a ghastly name for a company) as an Internal Communications Consultant. I am very stoked to have finally ditched my "Business Trainee" title. The building is just five minutes walk from home, so that's a real bonus...but the job itself seems right up my alley - great people, mainly dealing with their internal publications etc. Col is still on the job hunt, it is a painfully slow process waiting for people to get a move on sorting out their vacancies.... But as long as he has dinner on the table when I get home, I'll pay his golf fees (kidding...)

Apart from that, we are slowing down our sightseeing pace for the while - getting a bit tired of it to tell the truth. Are still planning on rendez-vousing with Col's old classmates in Tuscany at the end of October (will be bringing that up with the manager fairly promptly....) and hoping to spend Christmas in somewhere like the Lake district with the same bods...

Anyway, for those in the Wellington region, please take a trip up to Gladstone this weekend and romp in the daffodils for me.

And everyone, if you ever get the urge to visit - please do!!!!! We'll even allow you unlimited access to our "underwater world" bathroom.

lots of love and missing you all...
