I woke up to the sound of Duo breathing softly with his arms around me. It was nice to realize that I never had to be cold at night again, that I would always have my Bishies and they would always be loyal. Hmmm... Bliss. However, it wasn't always total utopia. My bishies got along fairly well, only the occasional "No, I'm the favorite!" type scrape. However, Brian didn't like any of them. It had been 6 months since I had first come home with Duo, and Brian still couldn't stand to be in the same square mile radius with him. Oh, well. You can't have everything. At least Quatre wasn't scared of Duo anymore.
There had been some additions to the group since Quatre : Irvine, Zell, Squall, Obi-Wan, Tenchi and Gourry. Quatre took every new addition quite well. However, Duo had frequent bouts of jealousy the first couple of days afterward, but he would always get over it. Duo slept with me now (Hentai! Duo, get your brain out of the gutter and back into your head please!) , and the other guys slept in his old room in big, squashy sleeping bags on the floor. They were very comfortable though, I knew because I had tried one out to see.
Unfortunately, my cozy little group and I were quickly running out of room. We had held a meeting (the bishies and I), and we had decided to move out. I given up being a Trainer for a bit and gotten a teaching job at the nearest Trainer's Academy, I had gotten a new uniform at the job - A Garden Student type thing (FFVIII - the bishies really liked it). To find my "Accountant", I had given each bishie a stack of numbers to crunch, and the one with the most right got the spot. It was Tenchi ;P. I put Tenchi in charge of the financial things and we were slowly working our way toward getting our own house. In fact, we were about to pay the last payment, which to today's pay. I hadn't told Kat or Brian because I knew they would try to stop me. Kat would say she would miss me and the bishies too much, and Brian would say to get rid of the bishies and stay because he would miss me and only me. It made me mushroom sigh to think about it. I knew however, that cooking for 8 ravenous bishies, one ravenous best friend and one ravenous boyfriend was really taking it's toll on Kat. I could practically feel her fatigue myself, and Brian, was, well, Brian. His constant bickering with the Bishies was on everyone's nerves, and I wanted to get out before it came to it's apex.
I sighed and eased away from Duo, this not-so-abrupt movement from me caused him to jerk awake. He relaxed again when he saw it was me.
"What did you wake me up for? I was having a very nice dream", he grinned at me.
"If we don't get up now, we're going to be late, and it's not a good thing to be late on your last day", I said and pointed at the clock.
"Holy shit!" he said and left to get the other bishonen up. It was 8:45. Work started at 9:00. I got out of bed and thanked God we had all taken a shower the night before. I threw on my uniform, katana (whom I had named "Megumi") and belt, grabbed the backpack and went to the Bishies' room. I collected them all in their own ball, except Duo. I grabbed him and set the DT - Beep!Beep!Beep!
At The Academy...
I sighed and leaned back in my chair as my last class left the room, grumbling about their homework. It made me think of Brian and I laughed. I kept laughing until I fell out of the chair, and I still couldn't stop. My bishies weren't concerned, except Gourry.
He poked me and asked,"What's up with Serena?"
Everyone sweatdropped. Tenchi said,"Jeeze Gourry, where have you been? Today's her last day, we get to move out."
Gourry scratched his head, obviously not getting it. Everyone either sweatdropped or fell over. I only laughed harder.
I managed to get myself under control for a second and gasped,"Don't worry Gourry, I'm fine, and you'll see what he means soon enough."
At that Gourry was satisfied, still didn't quite get it, but satisfied that I would be OK. Duo had been asleep at the back of the class with his head on a desk. His head had jerked up at the sound of my name.
"Uhnnnh... Gourry, you are such a mentally-challenged, light-haired person", he said sleepily.
Gourry didn't get it. I laughed harder. Tokio walked in with Gackt on his leash. I stopped laughing and turned serious as all my Bishonen, except Quatre and Duo, dissapeared inside their Bishie-balls in fright. Duo grinned, got up and came to stand with Quatre and I at the front of the class.
"Yes Tokio Sensei?" I saluted smartly.
"I came to tell you", she said,"since you were here, and I was here and had nothing to do and you needed to know,"she stopped to breathe,"that we are disconnecting all DT's except mine and a few choice others."
I was in shock. "But why?!"
"Sufficiently large numbers of Bishonen species have come into this dimension, so we no longer have need to go in search of them. We practically bump into them at the mall!"
I nodded as I saw her point. She was absolutely right, as always. My latest, Zell, I actually had bumped into at the mall. "You're right", I said, Duo was shocked.
"What do I have to do?" I asked her.
"We need it", Before she could speak further, Duo pulled me by the wrist to the side.
"What the hell are you doing?!" he whispered.
"Cooperating", I mumbled huffily.
"Don't you get it!? If you give that thing up, we can't move out!"
"What!? Duo Maxwell", he cringed at being adressed by his full name,"have your brains been affected by your braid!? I can make it work anyway!" I whispered angrily. Duo looked at me blankly.
I explained,"I've been inventing my own, that's why I've been going to bed so late lately. See?", I showed him a small silver box with 2 tiny anntenae,"It's finished, so she can just have the DT." I yanked my wrist from his grip and turned to Tokio, ready to suck-up.
"Here you go Sensei." I handed her the DT. She nodded her head, I saluted, then, she turned and left.
I turned to Duo and Quatre, gave them a huge grin and a V-salute, then said,"Hang on to your asses boys!" I grabbed them and set my new BDJ (Big Distances Jumper),"Processing request... Zzsshhrruumm..."
At Home...
"Alright ya'll", I said to my beloved bishies,"pack your crap. We leave in 3 hours. Come on Duo."
Duo stuck his tongue out at the other guys.
"Duo!", he cringed,"Keep your tongue in your head or I'll cut it out!" I said.
Duo shut his mouth and followed me. We went into our room to pack and everyone was done with 10 minutes left to spare. Duo left to get the other Bishonen for a quick meeting. When he got back with the others, he sat down next to me. I played with his braid for a second before I spoke,"In a minute, we're going to go downstairs to say goodbye to Kat and Brian".
At this all the Bishies grumbled. I cut them off with,"and I want you to be nice, every single one of you, or I will kill you myself. Is that understood?!" I produced the Schmack-O-Matic and brandished it threateningly.
They nodded grimly in unison, except Duo, who hugged me.
With that, we stuffed the big things into HammerSpace for later retrieval, grabbed the carryable things, and headed downstairs. Kat saw us.
"Serena-chan, where are you going?"
"I'm moving out Kat."
She stopped right where she was, her mouth open. Brian came up. I sighed.
"Serena,"
"Wait Brian, fix your girlfiend", I gestured in Kat's direction.
"Oh." He waved his hand in front of her eyes.
Kat snapped out of the shock. "You're leaving? Why?"
I just shook my head and smiled. Kat got the point. It was almost like she read my mind... She nodded, Bri just gaped. I started walking again. I gave Brian and Kat each a hug, stepped back and took out the BDJ. Duo gave Kat a hug and Brian a salute and cold look. Quatre gave Kat another hug and waved at Brian with a very strained grin on his face. Irvine stepped up, kissed Kat's hand and tipped his hat to Brian in a gentlemanly manner. Zell flipped twice and waved to both of them. Squall gave the SEED salute to them both, while Obi-Wan bowed to them both. Tenchi gave Kat yet another hug and gave Bri a slight "Please don't hurt me" type smile. The irrepressible Gourry gave Kat a bone-crunching hug and Brian a killer handshake. Brian was looking murderous. I hugged Kat again, took one last look around, set the BDJ, and made sure all the guys had a good hold. "Processing request... Zzsshhrruumm..."
