NICS began in College Park - District 3, Orlando, Florida. NICS has done well in College Park and is now ready to grow City Wide. Anyone residing in the city of Orlando can participate, simply locate your District or Neighborhood. The City of Orlando has 6 Districts which divide up the City.
When an incident occurs in your neighborhood and you feel that other neighbors should know this information, there is a new method of communication in place to do that! Once you have joined one of the 6 NICS yahoo groups simply send an e-mail through the NICS yahoogroup that you have joined. This e-mail will be sent to all members in your Neighborhood District NICS yahoogroup.
N.I.C.S. yahoogroup is a simple way to get a message out quickly and accurately to all our neighbors so we can be kept aware and informed.
It is easy to join. The steps to joining one of the Orlando area NICS groups is are as easy as 1,2,3. . . .
Go to NICS Yahoogroups link, on the right of this page, and follow the steps.
Once you are a member and wish to report an incident, sign in and select post on the left and provide the following:

@ Time
@ What
Once you hit send, the information is automatically sent as an email to all group members. Your name, address or phone # will not be given out at any time.
It is extremely important to notify your local police department in addition to using the N.I.C.S. site.
N.I.C.S. is not meant to replace in any way our Neighborhood Watch phone chain program or interfere with any police facility or investigation
The intent of N.I.C.S. is to provide legitimate information to members in order to enhance safety and security where we live and work. N.I.C.S. incidents reports will be monitored for authenticity and legitimacy.
