Florida Adoption Reunion Registry (FARR) is a mutual consent registry, run by the state, in accordance with state adoption law.  (382.027)

What is a mutual consent registry?  A mutual consent registry is a registry that collects registrations and of course money for registrations.  The registry will NOT actively search for your birthfamily, or give out information to anyone other than those people that you have specified.  By law, they are NOT allowed to release any identifying information to you, or about you, to other parties, without your consent.  They will contact you only if a match has been verified through the Office of Vital Statistics.  Both birth parent or family member and the adoptee must have registered for a match to be made.

FloridaSearchAngels recommend that all people in search register with the state registry, for many reasons as we will list below:

You never know who may be looking for you too
This is also a great way to confirm your match after you are FOUND
Registering is also a good way for our state to know how many want to be reunited

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO REGISTER:

Adult Adoptees (18 years or older)
Minor Adoptess (through their adoptive parents only)
Adoptive Parents
Birth Mother
Birth Father (only if he is named on the Birth Certificate or other document)
Biological Siblings
Biological Grand Parents (Paternal Grand Parents only when the Birth father is named above)

REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED UNLESS THEY ARE FILED ON AN OFFICAL FORM.  To request an application, Please call 850-488-8000.

YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SEND PROOF OF IDENTIFICATION, SUCH AS, COPY OF YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE, PICTURE ID ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION.

ADOPTEES SHOULD INCLUDE A COPY OF THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

BIRTH PARENTS THAT HAVE THE ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE SHOULD ALSO INCLUDE THIS WITH THEIR APPLICATION, ALTHOUGH NOT EVERYONE HAS THIS.

Please be sure to mail your application to the address at the top of this page to ensure your application gets to the right place.

If you are already registered and need to make changes to your original application, simply write to the registry and inform them of your changes.  The fee for making  changes is $10.

TO CONFIRM A POSSIBLE MATCH:
Adoptees are the ONLY ones that can confirm whether or not a family member is a match.  Both parties must be registered at FARR or send the registration in at this time for both parties.  To confirm information through FARR send a notorized letter from yourself, and from the birthfamily member, and registration if needed.  Send all letters in the same envelope to FARR at the Post adoption services address above.
