#6  MARK MARTIN
Mark Martin is my favorite driver. His career has many highlights and he is one of the best drivers in Nascar Winston Cup. He won the most races of his career in 1998 - his 10th year in Winston Cup. He won 8 races that year including the The Winston, the All Star race for Winston Cup. Although it was the best year in his career, he finished second in the points to Jeff Gordon.
Mark started out the 1999 Season winning the Bud Shootout at Daytona. He was involved in a 12 car wreck in the Daytona 500 that put him way down in the point standings to start the season. He ended the 1999 season 3rd in points with 2 wins, and was consistantly in the top 5 all season long. He endured several injuries that lasted through the  season, but never missed a race.
Mark also drives the Winn Dixie Ford in the Busch Series. He is the all time leader for Victories in the Busch Grand National Series with 46 wins. Mark's win at the Atlanta Spring race in 2000 makes him the first driver to win a nite race in the Busch Series (a 6 hour rain delay caused the race to be run under the lights). Mark's win at Texas in 1999 was the 200th victory for team owner Jack Roush. Mark retired from the Busch series in the year  2000 with his Farewell tour ending his busch career with 92 top 5 finishes, 126 top 10 finishes and 37 poles in 200 starts.
Mark has dominated the IROC series and he is the only driver to win 4 IROC Championships (1994, 1996, 1997, & 1998). Mark finished 2nd in 1999 behind Dale Earnhardt.
The year 2000 was not a good year for Mark. He had only 1 win and a lot of bad luck. He finished 8th in the points with 15 top 5 finishes and 20 top 10 finishes . Mark will start the 2001 year with a new sponsor. Phizer/Viagra is his new sponsor and he will have several paint schemes this year. He will be starting the year in the Viagra car at Daytona.
