Speedway, H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler and Elliott Forbes-Robinsoin, (famed road racing champion) designed these 5/8 scale fiberglass full-fendered versions of the famed NASCAR Race Cars driven by "Legendary" drivers such as Lee Petty, Curtis Turner, Tim Flock, Fireball Roberts, Buck Baker and Banjo Matthews. 
    In April 1992 the first ever Legends Car was unveiled at the Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, N.C.  The concept of creating a fun and affordable "spec" class of racing for anyone to participate in was born.  President and General Manager of Lowe's Motor
    Legends Cars have become one of the fastest growing racing series in motorsports today. They are built around a fun, safe family atmosphere which grooms some of the most talented drivers in the country.  Since 1992, Legends Cars have been a vital part in launching the careers of NASCAR's next generation of "Legends" such as Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kurt and Kyle Busch, Reed Sorenson, Casey Atwood, and the late Rickey Hendrick and Adam Petty.
   One of the reasons why Legends Cars have enjoyed so much success is undoubtedly the car's appearance.   Unlike larger, full-size race cars, the Legends Car displays almost a "cute" appearance at first.  But the 120+ horsepower Yamaha FJ 1200 under the hood, will quickly display any notions that this race car means anything but business.
