Background:
One of three surviving hatchlings from his clutch, Kirghiz reached maturity on the colony world of Cestus III.  The history of that world and the Gorn conflict with the Federation over it inspired him to undertake the study of alien cultures.  After attending the Fleet school on Gorn Prime, he completed his graduation cruise aboard the Jenghiz, during which he made First Contact with three new species as part of the vessel's Alien Threat Assessment team.  Returning to Gorn Prime, Kirghiz completed his education in cultural anthropology and was assigned to the border patrol/exploration cruiser Scytha, where he attained the rank of SubCommander and was placed in charge of that ship's Threat Assessment team.  Several successful First Contact missions and the repulsion of a Tholian incursion into Gorn space earned Kirghiz a place on the Gorn Hegemony's diplomatic mission to the Romulan Star Empire and a promotion to Commander First Rank.  Kirghiz spent a year on Romulus, finding the Romulans to be culturally interesting but too Byzantine in their politics.  When the Gorn Patriarch announced the diplomatic initiative to the Federation, Kirghiz volunteered and was accepted.  He spent some time on Vulcan, due to his experience with the Romulans, and then proposed joining a Starfleet crew to observe the high-pressure group dynamics of a small crew on an extended mission.  He was granted the honorary Starfleet rank of Lieutenant Commander and assigned to the USS Fury as an observer.

Upon learning that his favorite study subjects were transferred to the USS Revenant, Kirghiz requested that he be reassigned as well.  He loathes leaving studies incomplete.

Personality Profile:
Even-tempered but aggressive when sufficiently provoked.  Kirghiz is fascinated by the idea of mammalian intelligence.  Gorn are relatively slow thinkers, and Kirghiz finds the mental agility of mammalian humanoids both challenging and inspiring.  He likes his food, too.  Preferably meat, preferably alive.  His slow reptilian metabolism gives him the appearance of being sleepy, but Kirghiz is always observing everything and everyone around him, analyzing social patterns and trying to understand group dynamics.  He has a very dry and understated sense of humor that expresses itself in subtle practical jokes.  Gorn are highly territorial, and Kirghiz is very protective of his private space.

Chief Counselors Notes:
Ironically, our Observer displays some of the most 'human' qualities amongst the Senior Staff. His loyality has never been quastioned, unheard of, for an informal observer.

Physical Description:
Typical for a Gorn, Kirghiz is well over 2 meters tall and weighs 218 kilos.  He possesses great strength and endurance, but moves slowly and tends to take his time voicing his thoughts.  His skin is goldish-green and his scuta, or cranial crest, is black.

Special Notes:
Gorn eat infrequently, but eat a lot at one sitting.  Their diet is mostly animal flesh, tho a few well-flavored and dense vegetables like raw carrots or turnips won't be turned down.  Kirghiz likes to play games of strategy, which he feels will help him develop a quicker mind.
