Sharai was instantly in love with the passionate Klingon and they married shortly after in a traditional Klingon ceremony. Later, they had a mostly traditional Betazoid ceremony on Betazed. Ka�lan wore his uniform. Her mother was born a year later. Kala Salen, daughter of Ka�lan, grew up in an unusual household. Her diplomat mother and warrior father made sure she knew the test of both her homeworlds and her time was split between them. On Kronos, she learned to master hand-to-hand combat and on Betazed, she learned diplomacy, grace and languages. She met Thomas O�Shea on Betazed while he was vacationing there. Her father is Captain Thomas O�Shea. His most recent command was of the space station DS2. Now he is working at Utopia Planetia developing the next class of starship. He rose through the ranks starting as an engineer, then moving over to command. He noticed the need for sleeker, faster starships during the Dominion war and sent a proposal for a vessel to Starfleet Command. It was approved and Capt. O�Shea now supervises the development and construction of the prototype. Kassidy Ka�tan O�Shea was born three years after Kala and Thomas� marriage. She grew up dividing her time between various starships, space stations, Kronos and Betazed. She never knew what it was to live in one place too long. Her grandfather and grandmother had a profound influence on her life. She spent 6 months out of every year with them. She developed her grandfather�s skill at hand-to-hand combat and her grandmother�s gift of languages. Kassidy entered Starfleet Academy 2368 at age 16, encouraged by her whole family. Her parents and grandparents attended her graduation where she finished second in her class, excelling in languages, computer engineering and military science. She won the batleth competition all four years she was at the academy. Her final year at the Academy, she taught classes in hand-to-hand combat. Her specialty for computers and military aptitude made her a natural for intelligence work. Her language skills didn�t hurt either. Upon graduation from Starfleet Academy, she attended Starfleet�s Intelligence training school for two years. She received training in undercover operations, intelligence analysis, cryptology and languages. She also refined her combat skills. Her first station was DS9 during the Dominion War. She was among the last to leave the station on the USS Defiant when the Dominion took it and among the first to volunteer to take it back. During the war she was promoted to Lieutenant JG. She fought in the battle for the station and remained there for a short time, rebuilding the computer system and analyzing the remaining strengths of Dominion allies. The following duty assignment is classified. Personality Profile: Kassidy is a bundle of contradictions. She is calm and controlled and disciplined on duty, but her Klingon aspects surface when she plays. Kassidy also has a soft side she rarely shows. Her shipmates were surprised to see her playing in the park with children during shore leave one time. Kassidy is often hard to read and frequently surprises her friends and shipmates because her interests are so varied. She also goes to great lengths to remain mysterious because of the covert nature of some of her duty assignments. She collects secrets and probably knows more than people would like her too. She is an excellent listener and has an excellent memory. She readily admits her faults, which include a very wide stubborn streak and a lack of patience with weak individuals. Chief Counselors Notes: Displays unstable (possible bi-polar) tendancies, attributed to her varied genetic background. A warm heart guarded by many layers of protective boundaries. Physical Description: She has naturally dark brown hair and green eyes. Because of her intelligence work she often changes her appearance and has been a redhead as well. Currently her eyes are brown and she is using her natural hair color. Her looks are human and only her dark hair is reminiscent of her Klingon heritage. That shows more in her fiery disposition outside of her duties. She is small in stature and her opponents in battle and sparring often mistake her small size for weakness.
