Kassar 101
Kassar 101
Greetings. Welcome to the Kassar South Camp. Kassar 101 is required reading of all camp members, Free and slave, and is designed to give you a general introduction to camp and how it works.
History
Kassar South was built and opened on October 27, 2001, by our founder Michael Trakar-Profachi. Born out of a love for true Gor with strength and sound preparation, the camp rests upon a solid foundation for Kassar South and its Members. In June 2002, Michael retired to real time passing the leadership of camp to FraMan. While our founder is sadly missed by many, he will never be forgotten, Kassar South exists and thrives as his legacy to us all.
Gor exists!
Perhaps not on the other side of the sun, but within us, challenging our minds and delighting our hearts
Kassar South Encampment
BEWARE as Y/you attempt to cross the sacred soil of Kassar South. It is the Home of the Blood People, a ruthless Wagon People whose true belief is stranger means enemy!

Strangers are met with suspicion by alert Warriors skilled in the art of Gorean Weaponry.

Moving along the shores of deep depths of the Vosk River, You will hear the seductive chatter of slaves. As You proceed Southward through vast covering of trees, should you make it through, You will find the great encampment of Kassar South.

Too late, as the Warriors have seen you. Your eyes veer wildly to the north, and east side of the encampment, only to find the Camp is surrounded by several thousand trees. Wondering if you should attempt refuse in the trees, you notice the large shadows of the snarling guard sleen as they wander alert, their piercing eyes watching your every movement in hopes of an easy meal. Behind the trees to the north, should you make it that far, there is a glistening sunlit (or as the Gorean call the sun, "Lar-Torvis", meaning "central fire") stream that runs through.

To the northeast, you will find a Hot Springs, alluring, inviting. Thoughts of a peaceful bath enlighten you. Relax nay stranger, as several hundred sleens await there. It is well lit by several torches, and lamps providing light and security.

Your eyes seek the west side of camp, hoping perhaps safety. Alas there you see several thousands of bosk herding, protected to the honor of death by Kassar South Warriors setting upon the sleek back of their kaiila, and even more prowling, guarded, vicious sleen. Your fate sealed by the choice of the "BLOOD PEOPLE" you proceed.

Your eyes veer to an ENORMOUS brightly painted wagon, closest to the river. This, should the many Guards allow You to set look upon is the honorable, wise Leader of A/all of Kassar South, UBAR FraMan's wagon. Unable to take your eyes from this, you observe it is fronted by a large, low platform, called a "dais.". It is on this large dais that the Ubar conducts most of the camp's business.

You see other large brightly adorned wagons, filling the outer skirts of the great encampment. These are of the FM. The Warriors of Kassar South. Looking to the inner circle of camp, you will find the wagons of the Kassar South Free Woman. Beware as you realize, even the FW with Their demure appeal are cemented in Their devotion to Their Ubar and Kassar South.

The wagons are divided into two sections, leaving a wide, opened path down the middle of camp. In this open area tongues of bright flames burn at the Camp fires reflecting from the middle circle. Always visual and attended by the Frees and devoted slaves of Kassar South. This is where most of the activity of Kassar South life goes on. To the center of this area is the campfire, where seductive scantily clad slaves and leather clad Free Women do the cooking. Your eyes once leaving the sensuous slaves, look off to one side of the fire and is seen the branding rack, where the slaves are branded and pierced. Looking to the other side is the whipping post, where disobediant slaves taste the lash of the cruel correcting whip. The servery lies beyond the whipping post, with a slaughter area for the hunted kills of the Warriors to be tended. If you are lucky enough to be accepted into the F/family of Kassar South, be SURE to check the camp map and familiarize yourself with the layout of the camp.

Your eyes will always set to circles of sleens surrounding everywhere, that will keep Kassar South completely secured.

There are several pens for the animals, designated with feeding and watering troughs. The pens, although set close to the waters, so the troughs can be easily filled, have drainage areas leading away from the water source to prevent pollution of this precious commodity "water". In these various pens, you witness domesticated vulo, timid wool bearing hurts, vicious sleen, snarling kaiila, and the carnivorous tumits.

To the Southeast, you will find the sewing wagon fully equipped with useful items including a loom and spinning wheel. A large well stocked medical wagon at ready for any preventive medical, or regular to emergency care. Several sheds line up, filled with the Kassar South supplies and major necessities.

Take note, the stream and Vosk river are very wide and if you were to lucky enough to avoid the deadly river sharks and cross the river in the hot months of summer, you will find the vast Plains of Turia and Our Sister Camp, Kassar Camp

Servery
The servery is a small, yet fully equipped wagon set-aside for food preparation. The wheels have been removed from the wagon (though they are reattached when the camp needs to move). Inside the servery is a trap door has been cut in the floor at one side of the wagon. Upon opening this door, you will find a deep pit dug into the ground. The pit although deep is dug in layers of packed soil steps leading to a large storage area where food that must be kept cool are placed. Remember to take a lit lantern as is dark. The meats are cut, with the smaller wrapped meat placed in various covered large crock like containers. On the west dirt wall toward the ceiling of the pit are some hooks embedded to hang oil wrapped larger selection of meat carcasses. Eggs from the vulos and tumits are placed in a hurts wool padded container. Sealed pitchers of bosk milk are always readied, and placed on soil shelves carved out of the east wall of the pit, along with containers of butter, fruit, vegetables, cheeses and various other items. Depending on the season, the botas of various chilled drinks are kept readied for serve.
Beyond the servery, in the stream is a raft. This floating barge holds several kegs of ale, and larger botas of various drink in the water to keep it cool. Ropes are attached to the raft and it is pulled to shore when more ale or drink is needed.
Next to the servery, there is a large slaughter pit where the animals are skinned and gutted. It is fashioned with a large table in the center for cutting the meat and cleaning the hides. Beneath the table are containers of powders for the curing and various scraping and cutting tools of unique use. Oiled and plain rence wrapping paper is found here also. A large high "H" shaped post is set to the one side for hanging the kill to allow it to bleed, with several buckets available for collecting the blood for various uses, and to place the intestinal organs of the kills to be fed to the animals. To the other side are various sized hangs for the hides to be tacked and cured. Barrels of clean readied water and a small fire with a large kettle of always-readied heated water are found to the side of the table.

REMEMBER, Kassar South is a wagon camp, out in the middle of the plains, and so does not have many of the conveniences of the cities. Ice during the warm months is a treat that some Warriors bring occasionally from the cities. During the warm months, most food is fresh. During the winter months, food is either frozen under blocks of ice cut from the river, dried or salted down to preserve it or canned. When you think about the camp, think about how it is when you go camping -- the type of camping where you sleep in a tent and have no electricity or running water. That is the way life in the camp is, with the hard work of the innovated Kassar South P/people making it run as a well greased wagon.

Bosk
Nothing is more important to the wagon people than their bosk. Kassar Souths herd of bosk goes beyond what the eye can see. Only the Ubar knows exactly how many bosk there are, but they number well into the thousands. Men in camp are expected to patrol the plains and ride herd on the bosk.

Here are some excerpts from the Nomads book about the bosk:

The bosk, without which the Wagon Peoples could not live, is an oxlike creature. It is a huge, shambling animal, with a thick, humped neck and long, shaggy hair. It has a wide head and tiny red eyes, a temper to match that of a sleen, and two long, wicked horns that reach out from its head and suddenly curve forward to terminate to fearful points. Some of these horns, on the larger animals, measured from tip to tip, exceed the length of two spears.
Not only does the flesh of the bosk and the milk of its cows furnish the Wagon Peoples with food and drink, but its hides cover the domelike wagons in which they dwell; its tanned and sewn skins cover their bodies; the leather of its hump is used for their shields; its sinews forms their thread; its bones and horns are split and tooled into implements of a hundred sorts, from awls, punches and spoons to drinking flagons and weapon tips; its hoof are used for glues; its oils are used to grease their bodies against the cold. Even the dung of the bosk finds its uses on the treeless prairies, being dried and used for fuel.
The bosk is said to the Mother of the Wagon Peoples, and they reverence it as such. The man who kills one foolishly is strangled in thongs or suffocated in the hide of the animal he slew; if, for any reason, the man should kill a bosk cow with unborn young he is staked out, alive, in the path of the herd, and the march of the Wagon Peoples takes its way over him.

Security
We are a kill and capture zone, but that only applies to other GC rooms that also are kill/capture zones. Take the time to read the opening pages to the other GC rooms so you know which rooms are kill/capture.
If someone comes to camp and makes threats, etc., especially if they are not members of GC, nothing they say or do is real unless someone in camp recognizes their actions. The best thing to do is tell everyone in camp to put the person on ignore and just continue about your business.
However, if someone in camp does recognize the intruder -- and this can happen if you draw a quiva, sword, if you attack them, if you recognize that they have attacked you, etc., then everything that happens from then on counts. Be very careful before you decide to recognize something -- not only could you die, but you could be responsible for someone else in camp dying.
In general, if the Ubar or Camp Second is there, let them handle it. They will decide whether to recognize a threat or not. If someone comes in and argues with the Ubar or Camp Second, the rest of the FMs should stand at the Ubar's or the Camp Seconds side, but stay out of the argument unless asked to participate by the Ubar or the Camp Second. FWs should definitely stay out of any such discussion, but keep an eye on it. If it looks like things will take a dangerous turn, the FWs are responsible for getting themselves and the slaves to safety.
If an attack does occur, the slaves and FWs should get to the severy immediately. Men should protect the Ubar at all cost and engage in battle in general. Remember, you must take your injuries. It takes three posts to kill a GC member and it takes a non-GC member 6 posts to kill you. However, each injury counts as it happens and you must reflect any injuries in your postings.
It also is possible for two to gang up on one in fighting. In this case, one additional post is required to claim the kill. For example, if a three post kill is required normally, but two are fighting against one, then the two would have to have four posts to claim the kill.
Fighting in Kassar South is not like in other rooms. Here, the fastest posts win. You don't have to wait for a response before you can post again. This keeps the fighting more like rt, where the biggest, fastest and smartest win. Here, the biggest and fastest is your computer, the smartest is you, hopefully. Short, concise posts will get you more results than long, intricate ones.

Proper dress
slaves wear traditional wagon people attire -- a chatka, which is a long piece of leather drawn between the legs and secured at the waist with a curla (cord). They wear sleeveless vests and a koora, or headband, in their hair. slaves must wear their hair free flowing. (slaves in training or slaves being punished wear ta-teeras.)
Free Women wear long leather dresses and braid their hair. Veils and Robes of Concealment are not required in the Kassar South Camp.
Free Men wear leathers (leather pants) and tunics. They also have a series of colorful scars on their face. The first scar must always be the courage scar and may only be awarded by the Ubar. Other scars then may be added below the courage scar for various feats. Those scars do not have to be awarded by the Ubar.

From Nomads:

On the face of each there were, almost like corded chevroes, brightly colored scars. The scars had been worked into the faces, with needles and knives and pigments and the dung of bosks over a period of days and nights. Men had died in the fixing of such scars. Most of the scars were set in pairs, moving diagonally down from the side of the head toward the nose and chin. The man facing me had seven such scars ceremonially worked into the tissue of his countenance, the highest being red, the next yellow, the next blue, the fourth black, then two yellow, then black again. The faces of the men I saw were all scarred differently, but each was scarred. I recalled what I had heard whispered of once before, in a tavern in Ar, the terrible Scar Codes of the Wagon Peoples, for each of the hideous marks on the face of these men had a meaning, a significance that could be read by the Paravaci, the Kassars, the Kataii, the Tuchuks as clearly as you or I might read a sign in a window or a sentence in a book. At that time I could read only the top scar, the red, bright, fierce cordlike scar that was the Courage Scar. It is always the highest scar on the face. Indeed, without that scar, no other scar can be granted. The Wagon Peoples value courage above all else.

slaves
Kassar South Camp is always getting new slaves. slaves who come to camp with an ~o~ attached to their name are usually allowed to observe for five times. After that, they are fair game for a forced collar. However, any slave, with or without an ~o~ on his/her name, can be captured at anytime, though usually this is only done if the slave is disruptive or disrespectful. In any case, slaves who come to camp are given camp collars, not an individual Free's collar.
slaves who come to camp and then receive a collar are given a {KSP} collar. When the Ubar feels the slave has earned the right to train He will change the collar to a {KST}. This signifies that the slave is in training. ALL slaves must go through training to learn the ways of Kassar South Camp. Those who already are well familiar with Gor will need only the rudiments of how things work in this camp; those who are new to Gor will need more extensive training. Training is offered by trainers in camp (they have the word trainer in their name).Under no circumstances is a Free to discipline a girl wearing a KST collar. If there is a problem, notify the Ubar or Camp Second.
trainees who give the trainers a hard time and do not work hard at being trained may be placed in a {ksw} collar. This means she is a worker slave, a slave to the slaves, and must perform one chore continuously. she may not serve or interact in anyway with the camp.
As soon as a slave knows the basics of Kassar South Camp, she is placed in a {KS} collar. This means that she may be put up for sale soon. Frees seeking to own slaves should get to know the {KS} slaves to see if they wish to own them. It is important to make sure that you and any potential slave will be online at the same time. Occasionally the Ubar will consent to a private sale of a {KS}.
slave auctions are held periodically. Frees must be present to buy a slave, they may only buy a slave for themselves, and they must keep the slave for 30 days or she reverts back to the Ubar. she also reverts back to the Ubar if their times online on incompatible.
It is against the rules for any Free to discuss owning a slave directly with that slave. Such actions can result in the Free being expelled from the camp. Frees who are interested in owning a slave (especially a slave already owned by another Free), should discuss the possible purchase of the slave only with the Free who owns her. And please, remember, no one is obligated to sell you their slave. If the Owner says no, that is it.
Use of slaves,  All slaves in camp are available for use by any Free, although the Owner may require that a "usage" fee be paid. Kassar South has no restricted slaves, etc. Kassar South is not a "Satin Sheets" room, nor a place for lovers. We are a community and it would be insult for one Free to deny another Free the use of his or her slave. If you can't bear the thought of someone else using your slave, or if you're a slave and can't bear the idea of being used by Everyone, you don't belong in Kassar South. Occasionally, there will be an extenuating circumstance that will require a slave's use to be restricted for a short time. This is possible but requires the approval of the Ubar.
Those who want to use the slaves must use them in camp. It is forbidden to take the girl to ICQ to use her, unless you have the explicit approval of her Owner. The reason for this is that the camp needs its members in the camp. We live or die by the numbers we have in camp.
ICQ   slaves are not supposed to use ICQ for anything but an emergency. When slaves are in camp, their full attention is expected to be on the camp, not on what is being said on ICQ. slaves may only add someone to their ICQ with the permission of the Owner. Also, at least for the slaves who are owned by the Ubar, they are not slaves on ICQ to anyone but the Ubar. That means, if you do talk to a slave on ICQ, she may speak to you as an equal without fear of getting into trouble.
One other word on ICQ -- ICQ can quickly kill a camp. Kassar South works only when its members come to camp. If its members hang out on ICQ and don't come to camp, Kassar South will die. If you want Kassar South to be here, come to camp.
Traveling
like ICQ, can kill the camp. Your home is Kassar South and if You must travel, it should be in accordance to Camp Buisness ONLY, and ONLY in GC. Each time you travel to a different site, you help build that site by increasing its numbers, while you hurt GorChat by decreasing its numbers.
slaves are forbidden to leave camp unless accompanied by a Free. In general, no Free may take a slave traveling without the expressed permission of the slave's Owner.
To travel from one room to another on GC, you are expected to go through either the plains or the forest. You are vulnerable to attacks from animals and both GC members and non-GC members here. It is highly recommended that no one travel the plains or forest alone. You can be killed out here and the death will be legitimate. FWs are forbidden to travel alone.

Plains Program: The Ubar has set up for the benifit of Kassar South M/members a "plains program." The members, Free and slave are to use the plains program at least ten times a month. Time of stay is at least 15 minute periods. You are to make 12 posts as an animal of gor.(You may read up on the animals at website)(unless a FM and FM may enter plains as a Rider to hunt the game found there for Kassar South). You must take a name such as "Tina the tarsk" and post as if a real tarsk. In the event a Rider comes to hunt You, You must make it authentic and realistic as if a real animal being hunted. You can read more on the plains board to help You, and also a full description of rules. This is a wonderful program for the FM to hone up on use of weaponry, riding skills and hunting and can really help us in knowing the beasts of gor. So please make an effort to do the plains program to inhance Your gorean adventure, plus make KS prosper.
GC members can kill other GC members or non-GC members or animals in three posts. Non GC-members or animals must use 6 posts to kill a GC member (that's the homefield advantage!). FWs and slaves who are caught on the plains or forest may be collared by the person capturing them.
If you are engaged in battle, either with people or animals, on the plains or the forest, keep your posts legitimate. For example, you are not going to be able to charge a larl and kill it with your sword. A larl is huge (seven feet at the shoulders) and would have clawed you death before your sword got close enough to do any damage. (The way to kill is larl is to brace your spear on the ground as the larl charges and impale it.) You cannot throw a quiver and hit a charging animal in the eye, driving the quiver into its brain. Face it, no one is that good.
Remember, the animals on Gor are huge and vicious. When possible, try to avoid them. If you see an animal out there, try to get across the plains without getting into a fight with it. The worst thing you can do is attack it. But if you must fight it, make your posts real and accept your injuries as they happen.
One special word about Kurs. While they look like animals (sort of like Big Foot), they are thinking beasts that carry weapons. They also are much bigger and stronger than you are and have arms at least seven feet long, and huge claws. Try to avoid them at all costs. It's better to run back to camp than die out there. Also, Kurs are more like Goreans than animals. They have their own society, own (and often eat) slaves, and are in a war with the Priest Kings over control of Gor.
If you get into a fight with another Gorean, post quickly, make each post count. If you kill the other and they don't recognize it, don't argue the point. ICQ an admin to come out to the plains and check the log. If no admin is around, copy the transcript of what happened and send it into the camp. The Ubar will make a ruling.
The worst thing you can do is stand out there in the plains or the forest and argue. You leave yourself open to an attack from someone else, and that attack will count, even if you are just standing around arguing.
If you ever see someone out on the plains or forest capture a slave and tell her to go to a site off GC, immediately tell the slave she does not have to leave the site. Tell her instead to go to Kassar South. And then report the name of the person who told the slave to leave the site. We do not operate the plains and the forest as way for other sites to fill their rooms.
Finally, if you venture out on the plains or forest, you will be expected to make a certain number of posts before you leave that room (check the entry page to see how many posts you have to make). And remember, there are random animal attacks that count as penalties, which means you will have to make how ever many additional posts it says. These random attacks apply to the person who posted directly above the attack.

Chores, etc. slaves are expected to be busy while they are in camp. They are expected to perform at least one chore each day they are in camp, though they may do this chore whenever they choose on that day. If their Owner has assigned them a specific chore, it counts as the daily chore. slaves should do chores after they have greeted and offered to serve. However, if a Free wants service, it is up to the Free to find a slave who isn't busy and request service.
When a slave serves a Free, she is NOT released until the Free has actually released her. If some time has passed you may ask if the Free requires further service. slaves should not talk to others while serving a Free unless they have that Free's permission. The Ubar is very busy and so slaves serving him should always give him a short yet beautiful serve unless he asks for something else. Under NO circumstances should the slave depart until has been released.
Again, when a slave is in camp (and slaves are expected to be in camp when they are online) her attention is expected to be on the camp. slaves may not ghost, run two screens, do email while in camp, etc. they should watch for Frees entering the camp and offer to serve them. they should do their best to get furred. And when their services are not needed, they should keep themselves busy in camp, doing chores. The important thing is that slaves are expected to post frequently. Frees can get away with not posting (though not posting makes for a dead camp and even Frees should attempt to post frequently), slaves who do not post will be reprimanded.

Punishment slaves generally are punished by their Owners. However, a slave who is disruptive or disrespectful, can be caged and even gagged until her Owner shows up. In any case, any slave except a KST slave can be punished by the Ubar, Camp Second, any Commander of 1000 or 100, or any Kassar South Free Woman Advisor or Kassar South Free Woman Extraordinaire. If a KST misbehaves, report her actions to a trainer, Camp Second or the Ubar. However, under NO circumstances may any Free kill another's slave. The only exception is the Ubar may kill another's slave.
A warning to slaves -- when another slave is being punished, you should go about your business. At no time, should a slave made a comment that implies she feels sorry for the one being punished. To do so is to imply that the Free is wrong in punishing the slave and is enough reason for you to be punished. No tears for the one being punished, no hiding your head, no asking to leave so you don't have to watch the one being punished.
Coming and going slaves do not need permission to enter camp, but they do need permission to leave camp. slaves do not need to state why they are leaving unless asked. Frees, please keep watch for the slave who is trying to leave and grant them permission.
In general, if a slave asks to leave, it should be granted. slaves do have rt lives and need to be able to go about their personal business. However, slaves may not leave just because they've gotten angry about something, their feelings hurt, etc. Frees, watch for the slave who has just been reprimanded asking to leave. In that case, deny it. You'll catch on quickly to when the slave has a legitimate reason for leaving and when she is just pulling a hissy fit and should be made to remain in camp.
Occasionally a slave will have an rt emergency and must leave right away (this includes seeing lightening). In this case, she should post "rti-lightening" or "rti-door," etc. and just go. However, a slave who has too many rti's can expect to be called on the carpet.
Weapons, etc. slaves are not allowed to touch weapons without a Free's permission. To do so is reason enough to be killed. slaves need to be careful that they don't handle objects that could be interpreted as a weapon. This includes sharpened sticks, shards of glass, etc. Slaves must also ask permission to use a knife for food preperation.
One final note, slaves do not whine, cry or complain in public. What you say in pms to your Owner is between you and Him or Her, but say it in public, cry in public, etc., and you will be in trouble.

Frees
You are not officially a member of the camp until your name appears on the membership list. Your name will not appear until you email the camp ([email protected]) informing it you have become a member. Once the email is received, your name will be placed on the membership list and you will be assigned a wagon (check the map on the website to see where you sleep).
Free Men and Women progress through a series of positions based on their time in camp and effort. Each position brings additional privileges and responsibilities. It is the responsibility of each Free to know what is expected of them at their position level and to know what to do to gain the next position if they wish to move up (all of this is posted on the camp's website, which is accessible from the entry page of the camp).
Free Women do not have the "military positions" Men have. They may have a "paid position" in camp, but it is not the same thing.

Accounts
Each camp Free will receive a financial account. To receive your account, you must email into camp (you can do this with your original email if you wish) and list any slaves you brought with you to camp, plus claim up to five weapons. Once that email is received, your account will be set up (check the website to keep track of how much you have in your account).
Each time you make a transaction, the one receiving the money or the goods, etc., is responsible for copying the post (make sure you include both the name of the person giving the money, etc., and the name of the person receiving it, plus the amount or the object) and sending it into the camp's email. However, if the transaction involves a slave, the slave is always responsible for sending in the transaction.
Frees, you may trade freely with the other GC rooms, but if you trade outside GC, those transactions cannot be posted to your account. Only when you trade with someone who has a GC account, can it be posted to your account.
You will be given a small amount of money to start you off. After that, you must earn your own way in camp. You can do this by offering your services to others for pay, by making things and selling them, or by securing a paid position in camp (check the accounts page for possible positions, then talk to the Ubar or camp 2nd about securing a position).
If you offer your services or if you make things to sell, you must actually post doing those things. You cannot just produce a bow from your hat -- you must actually make it in camp. You cannot say you will train animals for a fee and then just say they are trained, you must post about training the animal. We try to keep things as real as possible in Kassar South.
If you do make something, send in the final post showing the item has been completed. It then can be added to your account and you can sell it later.
A word of caution -- Gor does not suffer poor people well. To be broke is to be subject to being enslaved -- and this applies to Men as well as Women. So, watch your account and don't overspend.
Chores
Frees are not expected to sit on their asses and swill paga all day *lol* They, too, have duties to perform. Check your position to see what is expected of you. In addition, you should be busy earning your money. However, especially for FMs, one of your primary duties is to keep the slaves busy. You can do this by furring them (something they like a lot!)
However, if you are the only Free in a camp full of slaves, you should postpone your furring and try to find something that will involve several of the slaves at the same time. This can be a game, a camp project, etc. The important thing is, don't just abandon the slaves for your own pleasure.
Also, if there are only a couple of Frees in camp and several slaves, don't run off and leave the other Free there all by himself or herself. Unless you absolutely have to leave, stay and help take the burden off the other Free.
FC-ing
FC-ing is a serious matter in Kassar South. Those who FC are expected to remain in that contract for at least three months. At that time, the contract may be renewed or canceled for another three months, and so on. The only other way to break the FC contract is to collar the FW.
FWs, take your time before entering into an FC contract. Make sure you know the person with whom you wish to FC. Three months is a long time to be stuck in a contract with someone you have grown to dislike.
FMs, remember, it is the FW who loses if the contract goes bad. The one thing she does have a true voice in is whom or if she will FC. FWs have the right to decline any FC proposal without fear of reprisal.
Finally, all FC contracts must be filed with the camp to be legitimate, and it is the FW's responsibility to see that the contract is filed. An FW who engages in intimate acts with an FM without filing a contract is subject to the collar.
FWs Life for an FW in camp is not that much different than life for a slave. An FW can come and go as she pleases (though an FW who flounces to her wagon everytime she gets angry or doesn't get her way may find her wagon is locked and she is denied access to it), other than that, she is much like the slave. The FW is to defer to Men, she is to be respectful to them, not argue with them, challenge them, or interfere in the business of Men. She is expected to cook and do other chores in camp, and she is expected to serve the Men food and drink if there are no other slaves in camp or if the slaves are busy already serving.

FWs who do not follow these guidelines can expect to feel steel around their necks. However, while in theory an FW can be collared for no reason at all, in Kassar South FWs fall under the protection of the Ubar. Those who behave properly, are respectful, etc., can not be collared on a whim. Any FM who wants to collar an FW Kassar South member must justify that action to the Ubar FIRST. Only if the Ubar agrees may you then collar the FW.

FWs in Kassar South do not carry weapons other than a small dagger, and poison pins. However, She may use various quivas and tools of weaponry while attending her duties. Any FW who pulls a weapon on a FM can expect to be collared. Occasionally, an FM will allow an FW to practice with a weapon, such as a bow and arrow, but an FW may only do so with the permission of an FM. FWs NEVER spar with Men.

How to treat non-Kassar South slaves
1. slaves wearing an ~o~ tag are to be greeted, asked if they know about Gor and Kassar South, and told that they may ask questions about the camp or Gor, either in public or private. They may ask these questions of Frees or slaves.
However, they are to be told they cannot interact in any other way in camp. This means that they are not invited to sit by the fires, offered a drink or food, or anything else. They may ask questions, but that's it.
Check back with the observing slave now and then to see if she has any questions. The worst thing that can happen is to totally ignore visiting slaves.
You can talk to them about the way camp works, if they've been on Gor for a long time, etc. You also can ask another slave to talk to the visitor. This is not interacting since all such talk should be informational.
2. ~o~ slaves who you've seen in camp a few times should be asked how many times they've visited. If they have come 3 or 4 times, remind them that they may only come 5 times and then are expected to join the camp or not come anymore.
This is the time to be helpful to these slaves. The fact that they have returned this often means that they are at least interested in joining the camp. Often, a Free will be able to talk them into joining if they take the time and treat the slave well.
3. A ~o~ slave who has been in camp 5 times should be told that she needs to make up her mind. Please, don't just grab her and collar her. Talk to her, see if you can convince her to join the camp. If you can't, then nicely tell her that she can't come back anymore. IF you see her return after that, go ahead and force collar her.
4. uncollared slaves, "visiting" slaves (even if they are wearing a collar) and slaves captured on the plains should be collared with a {KSP} immediately. Under no circumstances should anyone tell a slave to put a ~o~ after her name.
You don't have to be brutal with these girls when you capture them in camp. One of the best ways is to call the girl over to you, then attach a leash to her collar, snap on the new {KSP} collar, leash that collar and remove her old collar and leash.
If she seems like she may run, then attach a chain to her leg and secure it to the Ubar's wagon. The chain should be long enough to let her move around in camp.
Once she has been made a {KSP}, hook her up with a trainer -- if a trainer is not around, have one of the other slaves get her a ta-teera, her slave wyne and show her around the camp. Remember, the girl is now a {KSP} and you should not be disciplining or instructing her.
If the new {KSP} balks at training, gets mouthy, disruptive, THEN gag her first, if that doesn't work, put her in a cage.
If she continues to disrupt camp, then and only then, do you tell her she has two choices, her only choices as a slave -- to be trained as a kajira or to become a work slave.
Let her choose and recollar her as a {ksw} if that is what she chooses, but make sure you've explained to her what it is before she decides.
5. Once a slave has been made a {ksw}, you should IGNORE that slave. This slave now belongs to the Ubar and you may not kill this slave, nor punish this slave.
{ksw} slaves are not supposed to talk to anyone, nor anyone to that slave. Totally ignore the slave and report any problems with the slave to the Ubar or Camp Second.. The camp moderators may decide to boot a {ksw} if she is being disruptive, but that is the only interaction any in camp should have with this type of slave.

Miscellaneous info

If you die on Gor, unless you've filed a will with the camp, all that you own goes to the Ubar. You cannot have some "long-lost" family member show up seeking to claim what was yours. This includes any slaves you owned. FWs who are FCed should make sure some sort of provision is made for them if their FC dies. Without something on file with Kassar South, they will find they are destitute.
As a Kassar South member, whether slave or Free, you are expected to know what is on the website. Please, familiarize yourself with what is there and check it occasionally to see if anything new has been added.
You also are expected to read the Message boards regularly. You can access them through the camp's website. Changes in rules and policy will appear here first, and you are responsible for knowing about them.
Suicide, especially for slaves, is disney and won't be recognized. slaves who run away to the plains can expect to be killed and/or banned from Kassar South. slaves who die are only allowed to come back to GC as slaves.
If you have a problem, please discuss it with a Commander of 1000 or 100. They should be able to help you. If they can't, discuss it with the Camp Second. If they can't help you, then and only then, should you take your problem to the Ubar. The Ubar is extremely busy and when someone else can handle a matter, please let them do so.
However, if you do have a problem and no one can help you, by all means, discuss it with the Ubar.
Remember, being Gorean, whether Warrior, FW or slave, is not an easy thing. There is a temptation to be more than W/we are -- to be stronger,,,,,, faster...... whatever...... FreeWomen that watched one too many Zena shows...... Men that want to be Hercules...... slaves that think they have rights. The Ubar wants this place to show ALL of Gor that Gor CAN be done right........ as hard as it seems it really is easy. John Norman told Us how..... all W/we have to do is do it.
Disagreements
There will be times when you disagree with each other or disagree with the rules of GorChat or Kassar South. When you have disagreements, keep them private. If you have a problem with another camp member, try to work it out -- in pms -- with that person. If you can't, then ask the Ubar, Camp Second, or a Commander of 1000, to help mediate the dispute. But, keep it in private. If you disagree with the way things are done in GorChat or in Kassar South, talk to the Ubar or Camp Second-- again, in private. Do not post about your disagreement on the boards. Kassar South does not air their dirty laundry for the amusement of others.
One last note -- GC is a new site and is struggling with growing pains. Whether the site will grow and prosper or die ultimately depends on how many paid memberships it has. If you can join the site ($36 for 6 months), please do.
