| The sounds of steel clashing against steel, the wailing of women,torches, flickering unsteadily,children watching helplessly as My Fathers men came in droves, burning down thier wagons poisoning thier wells, taking the women as slaves.. killing off the men one by one..all this while strapped to My Fathers back. I am Jaru first born of Mustafah Kahn`Mohammed, son of Akabr a Schendi slaver, MY mother is Afeni Mohammed, she was abucted while at the Sadar Fair by my father, found favor in His eyes, and a permanent FC was made, in the union 3 more was born, My brother Tambaka, & Talimba, and a sister which I had not seen. When asken what happened to her, My Father eyes would narrow & He would look away, Afeni later told Me of How she had been abducted by raiders, and to not speak of her again as it pains My father because He was not here to protect or save her. My life has many memories of becoming a Man in the small islands outside of Schendi.. the time My Father ask Me to bring Him My best friend, and I did..It was My favorite sleen rajai, He promptly slew it before looking into My eyes for My reactions, then threw it to the other sleens i watched as they devoured it..He told Me to never call anything living a friend as it could or will turn it's back on you, My only true friend He said was My steel, as it would never leave Me unless I allow it, nor will it turn it's back on Me, a truer companion can never be found. As the days went on, there was a sound of excitement filled the camp and all were called to gather in front of My Fathers Wagon.My Brother Tambaka had returned, and was kneeling before My Father, as the Camp gathered around. He told U/us of how Tambaka had returned back to U/us after disgracing himself after being evicted from the Kassar camp because of a lowly girl, and found refuge in A place called Kassar South.The Ubar gave Him a choice to become one of them and start life over. He was given permission to go Home to visit His Father. After hearing of what happened My father became outraged, telling Tambaka He had brought dishonor upon the Family by His actions, where by He withdrew His sword and beheaded Tambaka, wiped His sword upon His body & spat upon the soil.He called Me forward and told Me that I will journey to Kassar South in place of My Brother and become one there. To restore Honor back to the Family. I did so, where the Ubar Trakar talked with Me and Gave Me a Home, it is now where I reside. There will be many mistakes made as My saga continues.. yet..such is life of a Warrior. |
