Camp Tour

~green eyes dancing, the girl takes your hand and excitedly walks along the path, starting at the Ubars wagon, talking incessantly she points to Master Ubars wagon~ that's Master Ubars wagon, #6.. its bigger then the rest of the wagons, cause lots of times the Warriors gather within.. plus Master Ubar is a big Man. ~giggles~. the dais He runs camp from is in front of His wagon.. ~grins~

behind and to the right of His wagon is the servery wagon its #24.. ~grins cause we get to peek at the Ubar sitting on the dais each time we go to the servery~ in the warm weather the bosk hide cover is lifted so the slaves are seen as they work inside.. in the winter the hide is kept down to keep in the warmth from the braziers inside.. ~smiles~ she will tell you more about the servery in a lil while.. ~squeezing your hand she tugs and takes you to the other side of the Ubars wagon~

behind and to the left of Master Ubars wagon is the Armory, its #25.. ~winking she flirts with the Master that is always standing Guard there~ inside the armory are weapons, stored for use in case camp is attacked, its close to the Ubar cause it's the Warriors of Camps duty to protect Him at all costs.. ~grinning she winks to you and turns to the left, a small hand pointing~

wagon #7 is next to the Ubars, that's the Camp Second's wagon.. ~smiles~ He is in charge when the Ubar is not here.. He also, has many duties to attend too each and everyday, including seeing that the Commanders are leading their Men as they should be.. ~walking around the wagons formed in a circle, her steps soft and light, she pauses to give you a gentle hug~ a girl is so happy to have you here..

~smiling as she points to the next wagon, # 26 that wagon is the forge, its always real hot in there.. ~grins thinking of Masters muscles bulging as He works~ all the metal works needed for Camp are done in there.. you will need to learn to pump the bellows to keep that fire hot.. ~pointing to its side~ that's the branding rack .. ~smiles as her hand slides down over the brand on her thigh~ the brand of the Kassar's is the tri bola .. ~grins as she happily shows you her leg ~

~moving forward, her small hand holding yours she smiles and points to wagon #27~ that's the medical wagon, its filled with all the supplies the Healer needs and extra's of bandages and that ~her nose wrinkles~ slavewine.. ~shudders thinking of the taste~

~ stepping out a bit, she lets go of your hand and turns in a slow circle~ the rest of these wagons are for the Free of this Camp and Guests that stay here occasionally.. ~her hand waving she turns until she comes to wagon #22.. ~smiling and turning she takes you over closer so you can inhale the aromas coming from inside~ this is the smokehouse.. the Hunters bring animals into Camp and they are slaughtered there ~pointing to the slaughter pit dug into the ground, the temwood rack high over it for hanging the beasts~ we skin and clean the animals there, then the meat is taken either to the smokehouse for curing or to the pit in the servery wagon for storage..

next to the smokehouse is wagon #23.. ~pointing with a nod of her head~ that's the storage wagon.. inside are all the extra supplies needed in camp, like oil for the torches, furs and clothing.. ~nods lots~ and lots of other things.. as you can see this wagon is made of wood, with no hide covering.. its also got a door on it.. that is where the slaves and FW go in case of danger in camp.. it keeps us safe while the Masters take care of the problems.. ~smiles~

~grins taking a lil breath~ Master says a girl talks a lot ~giggles and points to the last wagon, next to Master Ubars~ that's wagon #5 .. its where the Camp slaves sleep.. each slave having a fur and basket to keep things in, like their hair brush and perfumes and makeup.. ~grins~ we have to always look our best for the Masters..

~standing back in front of Master Ubars wagon, we turn and look to the inner circle of all the wagons. pointing to the main fire, surrounded by furs for the Free to sit upon and stay warm.. a fur to the left of the dais is the serving furs for us to sit upon when not in service.. guard sleen surround the inner circle of wagons, their keen senses alerting us to danger is seen.. off to the right is the dancing and sparring pit ~ we have to keep the main fires going at all times and the dance/sparring pit cleaned and ready for use.. ~turning to point to the right side of the Ubars wagon~ that is the whipping post ~swallows hard as her lashes flutter softly~ one place no slave wants to go.. ~sees the metal cuffs hanging from its top~

oh!.. one almost forgot.. ~turning to point to the right of the dancing/sparring pit is the pens for the kaiila, vulo.. that's where the Masters keep their beasts and where the lil vulo live.. ~grins~ we collect the eggs and store them in the servery wagon pit.. and we can eat them too.. ~giggles~

Study the above tour of Camp. It should help you find your way around your new home. ~smiles~ On the website is a map of Camp. If you have any questions please ask. you will be tested on this tour at the end of this lesson.

The following is a tour of the cooking facilities in Camp.

This tour will tell you where you will find all the food and drinks available. It will also show you where the cooking is done and where and how all the foods are stored. Pay close attention because as a slave you will be using this information daily. There will be a test at the end of this lesson.

~smiles~ pointing up the 3 steps that take you into the servery wagon.. the wagon large and covered in colorful bosk skin hides.. painted in bright colors made of natural dyes from various plants.. in the cold months the hide is kept lowered to keep the warmth inside.. but in the warm months these hides are rolled up so that fresh air streams through the wagon .. ~grins~ and so the Free may see us serve to the right at the bottom of the steps is the cooking fire..

~smiling she points to the cooking fire~ this is where all the cooking is done for camp.. in a pit circled by large rocks.. a steel rack spans over it.. with hooks that is where you will find the kettle of blackwine, and kettles of water heating for when its needed..pegs off to the side keep botas of drinks warm when needed..  below this is a rack.. a crisscross pattern of steel.. that a pan can be sit on for frying.. or steaks etc placed directly on for cooking.. at the end of that rack is a solid piece of steel made into a box with a handle.. this is for slower heating or for keeping things warm this can be used for baking as well.. be careful as the handle will be hot.. two rods of steel stand on either side of the firepit.. this is for placing a spit to cook food slowly over the fire.. sitting next to the firepit is a low wooden table with a drawer that holds serving utensils...

~walking up the steps of temwood, she pulls back the flap, stepping inside, she looks to the right~ wooden pegs hung along the wall hold botas of water, paga and kalana.. for room temp serving.. below the pegs is a shelf unit... resting on them are heavy pans for cooking on the fires.. including kettles and stock pans.. a large water barrel sits in the corner.. covered with a wooden top to keep the water clean.. over it hangs a ladle for dipping fresh water from inside..

~smiling the girl points to the next wall~ floor to ceiling shelves line the entire side of the wagon.. half of them closed in by wooden doors.. ~she looks to the top of the open shelves~ on the top shelf are all the drinking vessels, bowls, mugs, goblets, tankards, horns.. all kept high a girl must stretch to reach them, or use a stool.. ~giggles~ or climb up..

~pointing to the second shelf down~ large plates, small plates, bowls are all stacked here.. many different colors and designs have been painted and etched upon each.. ~green eyes moving down to the third shelf~ this shelf is wider, serving as a counter.. on it sits the canister of blackwine beans, tea leaves, small bowls with lids of both white and yellow sugars.. a basket filled with clean rep cloths.. and a selection of tiny spoons for serving blackwine first slave..

~below the counter she points~ the two open shelves hold large serving bowls, large serving trays, baskets of cooking utensils, long handles forks, serving ladles and spoons.. all make of the bone of bosks..

~turning to the back wall~ this wall is empty but if you look down you will see a trap door.. the wooded door adorned with a bosk leather strap, used for lifting.. ~bends over and lifts the door by its strap.. cold air swirls out to encircle you in its icy grasp~ that is the chill pit.. everything that needs to be kept cold in down in this pit.. ~smiling as she points with a small dainty hand~ that torch that is always burning is for use when you go down into the pit.. the steps made of dirt and wood slats, carry you down into the dark cool cavern.. shelves line the walls in the chill pit.. during the winter ice is available.. baskets on one shelf hold fruits and vegetables when available.. pitchers of juice and bowls of butter.. ~smiling she looks to the cheese wheels stacked neatly.. then turns slowly~ pegs hold botas of drinks, including paga, kalana, water.. beneath are small casks of ale and mead.. ~turning to the back wall she points~ here you will find the meats stored for use.. some will be hung before being cut up.. ~seeing the carcass of a tarsk hanging~ the others will be wrapped in rep cloths.. bosk roasts and steaks, tarsk roasts and slices, tabuk roasts, cleaned and cut up vulo.. ~smiles~ as you can see the chill pit is kept well stocked, but remember it needs to be cleaned as well.. all foods with the least spoilage are used to feed the beasts in the animal pens

~shivering the slave walks back up into the warmth of the servery wagon, closing the trap door to the chill pit.. with a smile she points to the wall to the left.. a long counter runs the length of the wagon, giving the slaves a lot of room for cooking and preparing food for Camp, beneath the counter are cupboards filled with spices, on the bottom shelf are bins of sa_tarna, salt, sugars.. noting that anything else needed will be kept here~

~in the center of the wagon is a large brazier, kept burning at all times it holds 2 large kettles of water, hot water is always needed for cleaning.. pointing next to it are two large basins for washing dishes~

~turning back to the entrance of the wagon, she points to the tall enclosed cabinet~ inside that cabinet are cleaning items, brooms, dust pans, tarsk hair brushes for scrubbing, buckets and old cloths.. next to that you will see a large tall basket weaved from sturdy grasses, that is where dirty cloths are put for washing.. ~pointing next to the basket is a metal bucket with a lid~ that bucket is for any and all scraps of food to be fed to the animals, make sure the lid is kept on it..

~smiles as she looks around the servery~ a girl hopes this tour will help all know where to find anything they may need for cooking and serving the Free..
