Dr. Suzanne McDonough Proprietor, Philadelphia's Cat Hospital |

I would suppose that Dr. McDonough has been photographed fairly frequently. She's an attractive person, and something of a novelty in her field, since she chooses to specialize in feline medicine. However, I will venture to state that she has never been photographed so well as this. The most casual of glances reveals that the doctor thinks that this little ball of fluff and claws is the sweetest, cutest and most fascinating thing in the universe. A more considered view shows that the photographer agrees, and is sharing in the joy of the moment. An introspective view by the onlookers reveals that they agree with both of them; at least whilst viewing the image. A true classic. And then the viewer zeros in on the kitten. Can one look at this image and not reflect upon the miracle that a baby felis domesticus is really no different, significantly, from her deadly giant predator kin, except in size. Another nice thing about great art: it makes you think. |
