Stu Horn
    Correspondence Artist
(NorthWest Mounted Valise)

The '70s saw in the birth of many new forms of art. The availability of inexpensive offset printing gave rise to a movement called "Correspondence Art"; in which the artist did paste-up collage art and had it printed on single sheets. When a sufficient
pile accumulated, the artist would mail it to a list of subscribers. This is what Stu Horn was doing under the persona "Northwest Mounted Valise", at that time  He also organized outrageously-themed shows at South Street galleries. The editor fondly remembers the time when he learned that a piece of his had been accepted for the "Exhibition of Degenerate Art".
