Although his schooling was in graphic design, and he worked as a graphic artist for years, as long as we've known him, Bob has always been carving ivory. He acquired a large amount of legal ivory in the late
'70s, and has lots of it left. It's an incredibly tough material to work, and there's never been much of a market for it. Lately, he'd probably be lynched if he tried to mount a public show. He mostly carves wood, nowadays.
