One of the great things about living in Hungary was how central the place is to other interesting places. It really was easy to just hop on a bus or train and travel around the country or neighbouring countries extrememly cheaply. So, one day my friend Elina suggested that we simply go buy some tickets and spend a few days in Italy. Along with Anna, another Finnish girl living in Budapest, we travelled by bus for twelve hours to see this amazing city. We also hooked up with a Canadian girl called Maria and spent a great deal of our time eating Gelato and Pizza, getting lost down blind alleys (no red-anoraked dwarves with meat cleavers fortunatly) and getting drunk on red wine. I also managed to share a bunk bed with a film reviewer from Empire magazine, rather incredibly. We later moved on to Verona for a day, but here a few pics of our time in Venice. And if you want to see the little film I made of our trip click here!

| I love this picture! Talk about cheeky smiles...this was taken on the bus as we left Budapest on the start of out twelve hour journey. | Sometimes one Gelato isn't enough...Okay, I admit one of them is mine. God knows how much of this stuff we consumed but we lived on icecream and pizza. |

| This is me in St.Marco square. Actually I didn't much care for the place - way too many of us tourists but atleast it wasn't flooded when we came as it so often is. | This is Maria, from Manitoba (that's in Canada and not Africa as I assumed) also at St.Marco. She was backpacking around Europe and we met her on the bus from B'pest. |

| Rather grim pic of me (Thanks Elina!) and I could be anywhere but it is Venice, really! | This is Elina miserable because she's just eaten two Ice creams and it's still 45 minutes until lunchtime. |

| And this is the famous Bridge Of Sighs in the Canale Grande. Yeah, big deal, we have one just like it in Oxford. | The start of an amazing night. No point in attempting to explain what a great time we had on this evening. You really, really did have to be there! |

| It was a hot day, I was in the company of Finns. It was obvious we'd end up sitting around getting pissed really. Shame most of the bottle ended up on my trousers ... |
