The Good Soldier's Shaggy Dog Remembered (I Think!)

Did I go or was I pushed?
Down the toilet was I flushed?
They said I did it to myself
But how could I reach up to the shelf?
(I know it was really a cupboard under the sink,
I think,
But sink and shelf don't rhyme, as you know)
And O
The pain of trying to remember
Hoping I was never dismembered or distempered
Disembowelled or disem Dowelled!
I come back now in times of dark
To haunt headless squirrels in the park
And if this tale seems to 'do in your head'
Then just feed me a Pringle or pastie instead
And then to bed!
And to dream, perchance to dream.......
