N'ano

Observant, aren't we? A look at this young man would conclude his stance at roughly six feet in height. Dusky hair, closely resembling a near-ebon hue, rests upon his head short-cropped, though the top is layered very shag-like with its longer frosted blonde tips. Genial cerulean eyes cast illumination in a provocative way with the deep sincerity that they possess, contributing to his appealing guise 'neath darkened brows. Any quirk in his mouth will reveal a pair of dimples within his facial structure, almost giving him a juvenile demeanor. Time spent in the brilliance of day performing life's duties has metamorphosed his skin's tonicity to that of a deep golden hue as it stretches over his frame, quite uniform throughout. Broad shoulders enhance his upper body's muscularity--apparent enough that he's nay from being lanky in this portion, quite a contrast from his legs, however still gangly from adolescence.

The warmth of Ista is here, alas, and N'ano's one to take this into consideration with his attire, or lack thereof. Belted cargo trousers are both loose fitting yet a perfect fit at the same time, containing multiple pockets along the sides for Faranth knows what. Their cromcoal color reflects a tad amount of dust acquired with various journeys throught bowls and from dismounts akike. Said trousers bunch slightly at their ends, obscuring the rise of shiny riding boots, newly obtained and well kept. And since it is quite warm, excluding trips ::between::, he chooses for his remaining torso to bear nothing other than his well toned body, aka, he's lacking a shirt 'cept for the long-sleeved one conveniently tied around his waist.

He is awake and looks alert.

N'ano is 22 Turns, 6 months, and 17 days old.

N'ano has no apparent threadscoring.

Kazra

Kazra stands tall at her final height of 5'8. Brown hair sweeps back off her face, but there is a new addition to it. Twined among the brown strads are quite a few colourful ribbons, white, red, blue, green and purple. Falling neatly down her back, they reach to her shoulders, giving Kazra's hair a new, colourful look. A small band of leather holds the ribbons and the hair back out of her sparkling blue eyes. Long legs taper upwards to a thin waist, broadening out only slightly to her upper body. Arms are slender and well formed, often gesticulating a point.

Kazra has changed her outfit along with her name, now sporting a vivid orange short sleeved top and a pair of black trousers. Her feet are covered with ankle length black boots that look rather worn, though sometimes Kazra kicks them off to wander around barefooted.

Kazra wears the orange and black knot of an Ista Weyr Weyrlings, with a thin ribbon of brown trailing through it to indicate her lifemate.

She is awake and looks alert.

You notice Kazra looking at you.

Kazra is 24 Turns, 1 month, and 8 days old.

Xylyth

Rich shades of soil encompass this brown's towering and imposing form completely, intermingling to form fresh shades and fathoms of earthiness where they fuse. Pale coffee tones spill over an angular muzzle and face seemingly carved from the earth, so fine is their detail, before giving way to muddy colourings that diffuse over well built shoulders and stomach, sleek muscle visible beneath silky hide, finally darkening to almost midnight shades at sweeping wings. Woven into these depths of night, as if by unseen magic, tendrils of deepest aubergine thread their way across the tautly spread membrane, surfacing to form cryptic symbols of colour then disappearing from view once more in a ritualistic dance of hide and seek. Continuing the rhythmic flow of colours, cinnamon and chocolate mix and intermingle over powerful back legs, while hints of gold seep into the shade of a perfectly formed tail.

Xylyth's first set of straps are at first apperance, simple well oiled leather, fitting in all the right places. But on closer inspection, Kazra looks to have gone strange with a needle, and purple designs twist and turn in mystical and random patterns. Running down the centre of each strap, above the purple stitching are three thin threads of black, blue and orange, almost invisible against the brown leather unless you look closely. Looks like Kazra's sewing skills are improving.

Xylyth is 7 months and 9 days old.

He is 36 feet (12m) long, with a wingspan of 60 feet (20m).

Xylyth senses Kazra looking at him.

Xylyth seems to be listening.

Weyrling Barracks

Large as it is, the barracks seem small when filled with the constant activity of weyrlings and dragonets, working, learning, or playing. The couches each show touches of the individuals who occupy them, all of them kept swept clean as the WLMs demand, but with a variety of cushions and coverings neatly folded or scattered across them. The clothespresses are full, some not so tidily closed as they should be. Fresh glowbaskets are strategically placed about the room, ready to cast their light over the dark walls.  At the northern end of the room are shelves containing a variety of supplies necessary for the care of young dragons, and over the shelves hang a number of charts and pictures. Off to one side is the everpresent vat of oil and trays of meat for the growing dragonets.

Gliding about are Orion, Prometheus, Flame, Pennywise, Sartan, Inaho, Wyriln, and Hawk.

Brown Xylyth is here.

You see Weyrling Note Board here.

N'ano is here.

Obvious exits:

Weyrlingmaster's Office     Out     Couches     Rooms

Xylyth is lying off to one side of the entrance to his couch, eyes idly watching the exit to the outdoors. Kazra is wielding a brush with vigor as she sweeps, ot attempts to sweep out their couch. At the sound of footsteps, she turns. Even without a knot, she still recognises the entering figure. "Weyrlingmaster N'ano sir." she says hand snapping to her brow in salute. Xylyth also does his own version of the salute, tail flicking up in direction of brown head before he gives a pleased rumble.

N'ano salutes right on back, since it's proper and all. With a swipe of his face with his upper arm, he tosses the hides within his hand down upon one of the chairs "I trust you and Xylyth are fairin' well, eh? How's the flyin' coming, good, I hope?" he asks before meandering into his office to retrieve his klah mug from earlier in the morning... still surprisingly warm as he drinks from it.

Kazra leans the brush carefully on the wall, it would seem sligthly rude to work and talk at the same time. "Yes, we're both good." she replies with a fond grin. "He's been exercising his wings everytime we go outside. Blue Riyth was kind enough to show him some strengthening excercises so that's what he's been practising. How is Bydelth?"

"Ahh, yeah, he 'n Jozzie are good for those. Came useful durin' my own weyrlin'hood! She was part of my clutch as well--er, Jozzie was. Bydelth? He's as well as can be expected, I guess... sleeping right now. We had early sweeps this mornin', so he's nappin'... wish I could! I'll just pass out early this evenin', probably," N'ano responds, shrugging.

Kazra nods, before hopping out of their couch and standing beside Xylyth. She dusts her uniform off slighty, before looking slightly concerned at N'ano "Pass out?" Doesn't sound very healthy to her that. Xylyth just sits quietly and watches. If he wasn't so big, you might not notice him.

N'ano laughs, shaking his head "I mean just go to bed... sounded better though," he grins, amused, "Although, I won't be able to till the kids go to sleep... and Hyti'll probably wanna stay up and chat or somethin' since I hardly get to see her any more!"

"Sleeping sounds better than passing out." Kazra grins, then considers. "You've got that much work to do, right?" she guesses as a reason why he doesn't see his weyrmate. She sits down on the edge of her couch and immediately a brown tail flicks across her lap. She's stuck for the duration.

N'ano nods his head, slouching his posture some to get comfortable on the chair "Aye, I certainly do! Weyrlingmaster ain't the only duty I've got, y'know... still gotta drill for thread... fight thread, sweeps... hidework for Saria... be a father and a good 'mate... all in a day's worth!"

Kazra looks at the weyrlingmaster, astonishment showing slightly in her eyes. "A man of multiple talents." she says seriously, tilting her head. "I hope we haven't made your life difficult so far?" Well, she hasn't, she's been a good little weyrling, she thinks.

N'ano rolls his eyes, but shakes his head nonetheless, "Nah... I wouldn't say you guys have made it... difficult. Certainly amusing and occupied, but not too difficult. Sure, I get called into Saria's office plenty to discuss the lack of dicipline on a couple of the weyrlin's, but it ain't bad at all."

And Kazra can guess who at least one of those is. She nods. "Candidacy was good practise for this." she muses almost idly to herself. "Chores and rules and stuff. I suppose we should be grateful there've been no pranks yet, eh Xylyth." and she pats the browns tail fondly for a moment, before looking back up.

N'ano wrinkles his nose, idly rubbing at his stiff neck "Thank Faranth there ain't been no pranks in these barracks or with you guys at all since you've impressed! I wouldn't hear the end of it from the Weyrleaders!" N'ano muses, grining. "You lot have been good for me for the most part and I appreciate it a lot."

Kazra nods in agreement. There doesn't seem to be lot she can say to agree with that. She notes N'ano rubbing his neck. "Sore?" she asks, pointing his neck that he was rubbing.

N'ano rolls a shoulder, lowering his hand to his lap "Nah, just a little. Woke up on the wrong side of the bed this mornin', I guess," he grins, "Nothin' that a good massage from Hyti later on won't fix! Or I could let Seffy do it--she's gonna be doin' that for her journeying project! Over in Paradise. Y'hear 'bout that?"

Kazra tilts her head. "Seffy's going over to Paradise? Nope, I hadn't heard about that." and she looks interested. News is always good, espcially about one the ex candidates.

"Well, just for her project. She's doin' it on massage therapy for couples. Me 'n Hyti are definitely goin'! Not 'cause we're fightin' or anythin', but just 'cause well, Seffy's Hyti's mentee, we were asked to attend, and it's a good 'cuse to get 'way for a couple of days!" Yes yes, N'ano's ecstatic

Kazra makes the appropriate oohing and aahing noises over the idea. "Sounds like you'll have a great time." she notes. "Good quality time." And she's probably sounding a bit strange now.

N'ano grins, nodding his head without a doubt "Aye, very good quality time, since we ain't spent that kind of quality time together since our honeymoon over at Silvercove!" The one where they took the mattress from? Yep, that's the one.

Kazra nods slightly, but still stays silent, though she's got a smile on her face for N'ano. Who said all weyrlings were supposed to dislike their weyrlingmaster? Finally, she thinks of something to say. "So when is the project taking place?" she asks.

Bah, who could dislike N'ano? He's just--so hot, and cute and all that good stuff, and when he's not being yelled at by Saria, he's usually chipper and very nice! "The project?" he asks, looking ceiling-ward for an answer "Soon, I hope! I don't really know for sure when, though."

"I'll ask Seffy next time that I see her." Kazra makes a verbal note to herself, before she remembers something else. A different smile spreads across her face, this one tinged with the faintest hint of mischief, before the tinge fades. "How has our weyrlinghood differed from your own sir?" she asks curiosuly, the thing she remembered sparking up the braincells to ask this question.

Do you really want N'ano to get into that? Oh, he will "Well, for one thing... it's changed a lot on /my/ behalf. I mean, here I am preachin' how you guys have to follow all of these rules as weyrlin's... like no relationships, no drinkin'... shards, when I think back to my /own/ weyrlinghood, I ain't exactly a good rolemodel for it all. But just 'cause I said that--which was all risky on my behalf, doesn't give ya'll permission to act up any!"

"But everyone bends the rules slightly at some point, well most people do. And everyone regards what others do differently" Kazra says. "I have heard a few things about previous weyrling classes." and that's all that she's going to say on that subject.

But it's really not all she's going to say because N'ano is now going to prod it out of her "Oh? And what else have you heard, eh?" Tell, or he has the power to make her do... chores. Yay. "I'm just curious, that's all..."

"A tree and alcohol were involed with one of them in some way." Kazra says. There. A nice litle riddle. "I can't remember which class it was though but I got the impression that it was a tradition. I can't remember who I heard it off though." And its true. Kazra has a memory that can't cope with names.

N'ano blushes somewhat, but nods his head nonetheless "Oh... yeah uh, that. Er, I mean--" He's just guilty as charged. "I know of that... rumor." He's not going to say it's real, after all. Don't want to give her any ideas of any sort!

"I should really start to write these things down." Kazra mutters to herself, frowning at her lack of memory. "Otherwise I'd tell you more." But she won't. Cos she can't remember. Yeah. One swift change of topic coming up. "At who stage do you think that we'll be able to ride our dragon sir?" she asks. Xylyth starts to look more attentive now as well. For him, this is the million dollar question.

"Ooh, that'll be soon, I promise. I just want your lifemates to work their wings out a little more so that they'll be able to withstand the extra pressure, y'know? Shouldn't be too much longer, I reckon, just a few more sevendays, really," N'ano responds, now standing to tuck away a few articles of random stuff left on the floor.

Xylyth rumblecroons his approval of the idea and Kazra grins. "He can't wait." she says, before looking at her lifemate. "How much bigger do you think he's going to grow sir?" and Kazra tries to think of another brown dragon that she's seen recently, who N'ano would know. "Dsalth size?" she tries.

"Well," N'ano starts out, rubbing at his chin in contemplation "I don't quite remember just how big Dsalth is, but I think he's 'bout half way there... maybe even more than halfway. They sure are growin' fast, eh? I can't believe that in just a few more months, it'll be a turn since impression!"

Xylyth senses N'ano looking at him.

"It seems everytime I turn around he's grown a bit more." Kazra comments, before looking completely astonished. "A whole Turn? Time has flown." and she regards Xylyth with a hint of disbelief in her eyes. "What a difference between now and then."

"That's 'cause he has!" N'ano points out, waving a hand towards Xylyth. "They grow /very/ rapidly durin' their first turn... one day, you might fit on your couch with 'em... and the next? No such luck."

Kazra glances at the couch that they occupy. "Hmmm." she says thoughtfully, before her eyes unfocus. She blinks, then smiles apologetically at N'ano. "Sorry sir, but Xylyth's told me that he'd quite like a bath now." And indeed, the brown is moving, tail flicked off Kazra's lap and onto floor. "With your permission?"

"Certainly," N'ano pronouces as he stands, saluting the weyrlings "Enjoy! Don't get too wet, eh?" he grins before turning on his heels to head into the office.

As permission is given, Xylyth is off. Kazra returns the salute, before she hurries after the brown.

Xylyth decides that they've had enough of investigating and return to the comfort of Xylyth's couch.

Xylyth's Curiosity Couch

Material dyed a deep green hangs from hooks that are embedded in the wall, making the small alcove fairly dark, lit only by two shielded glows. Dominating the alcove is the couch for Xylyth, carved out of the stone and moulded to the contuors of all the previous draconic occupants. Beside the couch is a nest of cushions and pillows, covered in brightly coloured materials, where Kazra makes her bed. A sheet of black, blue and orange sewn together is folded neatly. Next to the nest of cushions is another cushion, this one looking rather tattered and covered in a selection of grey hairs, marking the place where Kazra's canine Gigi sleeps when she is not being looked after by one of the weyrbrats. A small chest takes up the rest of the spare space in this room, where Kazra stores her clothes and other items. The floor is usually visible, with the alcove overall being neat and tidy.

It is a spring before dawn.

On the perch is Emmy.

Brown Xylyth is here.
