Whats good everyone? if you havent seen it on the internet I will be leaving my team in China and will be heading back to the states. I probaly can sit at the computer right now and write the longest blog about my situation, so im going to give you the pg 13 version and make it as short and sweet as possible. Me and my agent made a mutual agreement with the team that both sides could be happy about. The league in China is great and provides many good jobs especially for americans. I guess its so good that NBA veterans come to play here, such as Bonzi Wells, David Harrison and Rodney White just to name a few. Even Vin Baker came out here recently for a tryout. Wasnt he once an NBA all star? Well i figure if that door and avenue opens up for me later in my career it would definelty be something I would strongly consider. But for me right now in my career coming off of a great year I think its better that Im in the states looking to get back into the NBA. Right now Im at the prime of my career or atleast thats what people in the basketball world say. Basketball players are usually in there prime 27 and 28. If that is true then its scary to see what Lebron James is playing like when he is that age.
Personally I was playing well but lets just say that the coach wanted me to be something I wasn't. My numbers over 13 games proves that I played team basketball and still managed to do well. ( 26pts pg, 9rebs pg, 4 asst pg and shot well over 50 percent from the 3pt line). Our record was 6-7. could be better and could be worse. The coach would tell me things like "Why didnt you have any blocks or more rebounds?, we lost because we were lacking in these areas" This would be after a night I had 28pts, 15 rebs, and 6assts. not to mention at this time I was leading the team in points, rebounds, assist, steals, 3pters made and 3pt percentage. I understand and understood that a player always can improve. After every loss it was something completly different and even after some wins it just became frustrating. Maybe i'm buggin but if you lead the team in every category then maybe you should ask a player that averages 3 rebounds to get 5 or a player that averages 5 pts to pick it up to 9. Anyway i guess you can say that we had our differences which is a shock with me because that has never happened to me before. Any coach that has coached me knows that im coachable. Anyway, like I said no sweat off my back I get to chase my dream and I have lived another amazing experience in life.
On a different note my sister (Jamillah) is about to get married on Saturday. I'm still in China now but hope to get back before then to be a part of that. That would be a great christmas gift. Also shout out to my nephew (Khalil) who had a great 4 years at his high school in football and academics. You worked hard and deserve what your bright future will bring to you. I can't believe Im leaving so soon and kind of unexpected but have never been so ready and happy to come back to America. See you soon
