Well, here you are on your first cruise and the worst has happened.  It turns out that the entire crew is sick from last night's meal. Seems that everyone had the chicken (you and your  cabin mates ordered the beef) and now they are sick from food poison.

After a long discussion with your cabin mates, you are all in agreement that you learned enough in you Social Studies class to assume the jobs of the sick crew
(Thank goodness you stayed awake in that class).

Task
You and your group members (cabin mates) will assume the following jobs: (Click on the names below for job description and web sites)
Navigator
Cruise Director

Each member of the group will:
1.
Research two counties in which he/she wishes to visit. (Remember, you are on a cruise ship so you must be able to get there by water.) Download and complete the worksheet.

2.
Download a map and using longitude/latitude, plot the entire route of your groups' cruise. Starting from New Orleans, you will plot your course and then return back to New Orleans.  Using the distance scale on the map, calculate the total distance of the entire trip.

3.
Create a PowerPoint. There must be a slide for every country that the group researched.  Each slide must contain:
  1. the name and picture of the country
  2. the coordinate (longitude and Latitude) of the country
  3. the name of the currency used in the country
  4. a major export or resource produced by the country
  5. average Summer and Winter temperature
