Home Layout of Rodney Boettcher
Rodney has been a been friend of mine for almost 25 years.  I met when I was in high school and he got me involved in Model Railroading.  His current layout is in N-scale.  It is almost oval in shape but there is opening cut into the avoid a duck under.  This is the same layout Rodney has had for those 25 years.  It has been added to over the years.  Rod models mainly CNW and the layout is free lanced in the midwest.  UPDATE 01-02-2003 As with any good layout it never stops changing below are some additions made to this fine N-scale layout.
A busy day  in Meterville. The CNW commuter is in and so is the local frieght.  The town Meterville got its name because the gas meter used to hang near town.
Clothes hang on the line as a youngster plays in the yard.  The young man is apparently used to all the rail activity in town.
A small farm sits trackside.  The animals graze in the meadow near the water.
The harbor is a busy place when the carferry is in.  The car ferry is scratch built from plans in Model Railroader.
A triple meet as the local lead by the CGW RS-2 passes over the CNW Pacific.  The DMIR mine train waits to leave the mine. The CNW and DMIR units were customed painted by Rod.

New development and a lovely bouldevard with islands with flowers in the island grace this suburban setting.
Custom painted Duluth Missabe Caboose trails a taconite train.
A reversing wye has been added to layout. This will increase operating possibilities with the addition of a small staging yard.
