| Autumn Leaves A hummingbird whispered goodbye today I'll see you next summer it said The flowers are saying a sweet farewell The leaves are turning radiant shades of red The harvest moon with its golden light Rises in the late evening sky A whippoorwill sings a lonely tune Summer once again has passed us by The leaves all scatter carelessly Without even making a sound Like a warm and colorful blanket Slowly and softly covering the ground Bright colored pumpkins and indian corn Decorate each and every door Summer seems like a distant memory Although it was just one season before Lets take these sunshine days of September And forever store them in our mind Let them warm our hearts in winter When Mother Nature can be so unkind And as you walk down your garden path Where beautiful flowers not long ago grew If something makes you stop for a moment It is I, just thinking of you |
