Homage to the Buddha

Ye ca Buddha atita ca,

The Buddhas of the ages past,

Ye ca Buddha anagata,

The Buddhas that are yet to come,

Paccuppanna ca ye Buddha,

The Buddhas of the present age,

Aham vndami sabbada

I always pay homage to them.

Natthi me saranam annam,

No other refuge do I seek,

Buddo me saranam varam,

The Buddha is my matchless Refuge.

Etena sacca vajjena,

By the power of this Truth,

Hotu me jaya mangalam

May joyous victory be mine.

Uttamangena vandeham,

With my bow I humbly worship

Padapamsu varuttamam,

The blessed dust on His sacred feet.

Buddhe yo khalito doso,

If to the Buddha I have wronged,

Buddho khamatu tam mamam

May the Enlightened One forgive me.

Ye ca Dhamma atita ca,

The Dhammas of the ages past,

Ye ca Dhamma anagata,

The Dhammas that are yet to come,

Paccuppanna ca ye Dhamma,

The Dhammas of the present day,

Aham vandami sabbada

I always pay homage to them.

Natthi me saranam annam,

Dhammo me saranam varam,

The Dhamma is my matchless Refuge.

Ye ca Sangha anagata,

The Sangha that are yet to come,

Paccuppana ca ye Sangha,

the Sangha of the present age,

the Sangha in two folds.

Sanghe yo khalito doso

If I have done wrong to the Sangha

Sangho khamatu tam mamam

May the Sangha forgive me.

Yojentam osadham Buddham,

Magganam osadham Dhammam,

Piventam Osadham Sangham,

Rogiko tamaham vande.

The Buddha discovered

the medicine of the Noble Path.

The Dhamma is that medicine.

The Sangha prescribed it.

As a patient of defilement,

I pay homage to the Triple Gem.

Karontam ulumpam Buddham,

Maggangam ulumpam Dhammam.

Pacentam ulumpam Sangham.

Dakiko tamaham vande.

The Buddha built a raft for the Noble Path.

The Dhamma is the Noble Path.

The Sangha used the raft.

Being in the whirlpool of samsara,

I pay homage to the Triple Gem.

Buddho ca mangalo loke,

Sambuddho capi lokaggo

Buddham sarana-magamma

Sabba dukkha pamuccare.

Most blessed is the Buddha.

The highest in the world.

Whoever take refuge in the Buddha.

May they be free from all suffering.

Dhammo ca mangalo loke.

Gambhiro hoti duddaso,

dhammam sarana-magamma

Sabba dukkha pamuccare.

Most blessed in the world is the Dhamma.

Profound and difficult to realize.

Whoever take refuge in the Dhamma.

May they be free from all suffering.

Sangho ca mangalo loke,

Dakkineyyo anuttaro.

Sangham sarana-magamma,

Sabba dukkha pamuccare

Most blessed in the world is the Sangha

The Sangha is worthy of offerings.

Whoever take refuge in the Sangha,

May they be free from all suffering.
