•One is that it can get reduced
to lactic acid thereby oxidising NADH to NAD+. This occurs in Lactic acid bacteria, in human muscles and cornea of the

•On the other hand, it can also
be decarboxylated to acetaldehyde and CO2 and then acetaldehyde is reduced to Ethanol thereby oxidising
NADH.
•The above step occurs in YEAST.
