Note: after install - Shoutcast DNAS is on Start - programs - Shoutcast DNAS voip-------hamachi You can do it many ways, here are two. SIP direct Download SJPhone (or use any sip software phone which will do SIP direct IP to IP I use SJPhone, yes I know it has stalled but it is stable and it has Jabber support. have your friends use a sip software phone and hamachi make a network have your friends join the network use the hamachi IP to call them, that is it. Asterisk PBX This is a little more involved. But Thanks to Ward Mundy and friends at NerdVittles.com PBX in a Flash makes it easy with to do. I will not rewrite a Asterisk PBX how to Ward @ http://nerdvittles.com/ has it all for you @ http://pbxinaflash.com/ First thing is to download and install the PBX once you have it up and running, install and run Hamachi and create the Hamachi network you wish to use for VOIP, you should really buy the pro version for this. Use Freepbx to create the extens for the users, and yes you can use VOIP trunking, I have only used vitelity.net for this but any REAL voip company should work, you can also use Zaptel (FXO) devices to conncet to the PSTN. Have the software phones register with the hamachi IP. Your PBX is safe from outsider's, only those member's of the network YOU control have access. You have gotten around the SIP nat issue which has some folks in a fit. I have this working now without forwarding a single port thru my router. Calls can be made and taken by softphones using only the hamachi ip's. my PBX has trunks from http://vitelity.net which are dirt cheap when you get a pay per call plan at less than .02 cent a min to call out to the PSTN (regular landline or cell phone).
