Agaricus
Agar. Hagar.

Agaricus affects the spine
To this her ailments all incline.
She hath tender spine, and pains
From every motion it sustains.

Paralysis in various parts.

Or spots that feel as cold as ice,
That come and vanish in a trice.

Alumina affects the spine, And hence (a paralytic sign). The heavy, weary weight he feels Adown his legs, with soft, numb heels. All, all is dryness of his kin, All dry and itching is his skin, And dry the mucous tract within. And hence his knotty stools delay; Hence dry and sore his nose alway, And dry his face, and tightly drawn As from the white of egg dried on. Yea, dry his throat and bronchial track, From whence his morning hawking hack. And with it in his throat a prickling, As if from pin or splinter sticking. A burning soreness marks these states, Which cooling water mitigates. A dizziness affects his head, That causes forward falling dread. Arg. n. (2nd J) The knight.

Argentum Nitricum- We name Degeneration as thy name The tissues all from head to heel Thy wasting ravages reveal, The brain, the spine, the membrane track Give evidence of thy attack. Thy memory shirks and leaves a state Of hasty feeling, as if late. The brain feels large, and giddiness To tottery trembling adds distress. The head with bursting pain is seized, Which may, by bandage tight, be eased. Thy eyes are clogged with pus or phelgm, With constant need for wiping them. Thy canthi look like raw beefsteak, The cornea the while opaque. The iris sensitive to light, Whilst serpent forms beset the sight. Thy nose on dire catarrh intent, Discharges mucus purulent. The Face is shrunken, pale or blue, Or holds chlorosis up to view. The mouth emits and odor vile, The tongue is red-tipped, typhoid style. The Throat in which tough mucus sticks, Is pained with sense of splinter pricks. The which with hawking may denote A clue to clergyman's sore throat.

The chest feels tight, as if encased By tensive cordage round the waist. And hence for asthma comes a clue, And so for emphysema, too. The lungs are sor, and there is cough that raising of the voice sets off. The stomach foul, with wind replete, Is ever craving something sweet. And suffering catarrh, and fret of ulceration, is beset. and sometimes horrid torture feels, Especially after taking meals. The wind impacted causes pain, \'Til belching loud removes the strain. The action of the heart may be Disturbed by gastric sympathy. The stools are noisy, fetid, green, Or as in dysentery seen. Or as in phthisis purging, too, When drinks of water go right through, The skin is subject to attack Of small eruptions, blue or black. Chora, spasms, tendon leap Arousing patient out of sleep, With nervous trembling, all give sign Of irritation of the spine. The urinary organs show A dribbling paralytic flow. There may be wetting of the bed, Or burning when the stream is shed. The genitals in such condition, As causes pain when in coition. Venereal tint may be canker, Foul gonorrhoea, or a chancre. All ailments strengthen in their might, From walking, eating, and at night.
