BAKLAVA
STEP 1:
BUTTER LARGE PYREX.  LAY 5 SHEETS OF FILO PASTRY INTO PYREX.  BUTTERING EACH VERY WELL WITH MELTED BUTTER.  THE 5TH SHEET WILL NOT BE BUTTERED.

STEP 2: 
MIX FIRST 4 INGREDIENTS TOGETHER AND LAY A THIN LAYER ONTO FILO SHEET CRUST.  SPREADING WALNUT MIXTURE EVENLY.

STEP 3:

REPEAT STEPS 1 & 2 AND KEEP GOING UNTIL 5 SHEETS OF FILO REMAIN FOR THE TOP.  BUTTER TOP LAYER VERY WELL AND CUT DIAGONALLY.  PLACE ONE WHOLE CLOVE ON EACH PIECE AND BAKE AT 300 DEGREES F. FOR ONE HOUR OR UNTIL GOLDEN.
(PLACE A PAN OF WATER AT BOTTOM OF OVEN SO CRUST WON'T DRY WHILE BAKING)
**IF A PAN IS BEING USED INSTEAD OF PYREX...BAKE AT 350F.**

SYRUP:
BOIL ALL INGREDIENTS FOR 10 MINUTES AND POUR HOT OVER COOLED BAKLAVA.
1/2...............CUP SUGAR
4.................CUPS WALNUTS
1 TSP..........CINNAMON
2 TBSP........BREAD CRUMBS

1 PK FILO PASTRY
BUTTER
SYRUP:
4.......CUPS SUGAR
3.......CUPS WATER
2-3....WHOLE CLOVES

PINCH OF CINAMON OR VANILLA
HALF A LEMON.
