Seeding Projects
Over the last 15 years, numerous large and small scale
seeding projects have taken place in Greece in an
attempt to reverse the land degradation and
desertification that is creeping into the country.
Numerous photographs are enclosed.

Masanobu Fukuoka passed away at the age of 95 on
August 16, 2008 at his home in Japan.
The founder of Natural Farming was a scientist,
philosopher, writer and above all a farmer.
He called his farming method "do nothing farming"
The four principles of natural farming are:
1. No cultivation – no plowing
2. No fertilizers
3. No weeding
4. No pesticides
We honor his life by continuing his work through the
establishment of natural farms and reforestation
efforts throughout the world.
The seeding projects at Keratea near Athens, in Spain
and Argentina are dedicated to his memory.
2008 - 2009 KERATEA -ATHENS Seeding Project
Over 20 Tons of seed balls/pellets were made for this project. For
the 1st time a newly invented machine was used in the production.
The results were very encouraging - the weather cooperated during the
fall and winter. Click on the link to see more Photos.
October 2008 - Spain
Our friends in Spain organized meetings and workshops at various
cities that showcased Natural Farming - Panos Manikis participated
at these meetings - he came back impressed by the hospitality,
enthusiasm and the on-going reforestation efforts in Spain. A very
ambitious program to plant 100 million trees has started.
The 20 page newsletter in Spanish shows some of the activities that
took place.
March 2009 - Argentina
At the end of February and early March, 2009 in Argentina, a
series of workshops, lectures and conferences were organized that
showcased natural farming - like Spain, Panos was overwhelmed by
the enthusiasm and hospitality of the participants. Plans were made
to reforest large areas of the country. More photographs and
possibly a video will follow when they become available.

SIDI TOUI – NATIONAL PARK - TUNISIA
The power of nature-Sidi Toui National Park - Tunisia
2- 1 - 1987 The photograph from NASA shows the Sidi
Toui National Park to be almost a desert in 1987. In 1993
the park was established and the use of the land for
agriculture and livestock grazing was forbidden.
13 – 12 -1999 The results are striking - native vegetation
returned, as did a number of bird species. The park
boundaries are clearly defined in the 1999 photo.
