WELCOME TO

A TASTE OF TRINIDAD CARNIVAL

If you've never been, you don't know what you're missing:

the fun! ...the food! ...the beaches! ...the people! ...the music.

...And for the latest 2K10 Soca in the New York City area, keep it locked on to The Original LSK live on 90.9 FM (WKRB): it's D'Real Mix live every Friday night from 9pm to midnight and The Cultural Vibes Night Flight every Saturday night from midnight to 3am... with CVTV (Cultural Vibes TV) hitting you each and every Monday on Brooklyn's BCAT on CableVision.

Trinidad and Tobago Carnival is a wonderful celebration. Take a quick peek at some pictures from this year's Trinidad Carnival festivities, or video footage from last Carnival Tuesday's more 'colorful' activities. And, if you would like details on what some of the more popular Carnival Mas Bands had to offer for carnival, I've placed a quick link to a few of them below, so that you can jump right to their costume selection pages.

And, if you're looking for a little more information on everything Trinidad has to offer, then I could hook you up with that too.

Plus, if you're thinking about joining us next Carnival, most bands start showing their costumes around November each year, and costumes, hotels and flights to Trinidad tend to be sold out by January; So book your vacation early. I suggest you try my favorite, the one and only BWIA (a.k.a. BWee), but I guess if you'd like a backup plan several other major airlines fly into Piarco International Airport, and they wouldn't substitute to badly.

While I've included links to the most popular carnival bands below, I must feature both my band of choice and my section of choice for Carnival 2K10. First Spice and Tribe.

Thanks for joining me for a taste of My Trini. Once you've had your fill of Trini excitement, take a slow cruise or a quick flight over to our sister island Tobago for some quiet relaxation. Personally, I always head directly to any one of the beautiful apartments at Smith's Manor in Mt. Irving, where peace, tranquility and privacy reign supreme. Check it out for yourself... you won't be disappointed.

.......Oh yeah, for all you First Timers, I've included some Carnival Tips so you don't feel much like a fish out of water.

Be safe and have fun.
