Did you know that the skin is the largest organ of the body, and just like the lungs, it needs to breathe? Products that clog the pores increase the tendency for bacterial accumulations to build up, which contribute to unhealthy skin prone to inflammation, pimples, blotches, etc. Healthy skin is afforded the opportunity to regulate itself through its natural breathing exchange. For the face especially, problems occur as a result of non-effective cleansing as well as applying too much product [including the excess use of make-up]. It is important to realize as well that most commercial brands contain some of the aforementioned toxins and irritants, which just make matters worse. Failing to wash off make-up effectively also contributes to problem skin. The recommended routine for maintaining healthy skin is the 3-step concept.

This 3-step programme should be carried out morning and at night, every day: First step cleanse thoroughly and be sure to rinse well. This step opens the pores to remove surface irritants. We offer a special facial bar that is just the right size for washing the face fits in the palm of your hand. Second step once the face is clean, it is important to close the pores once again, by using a toner, or simply with a cool water flush. This step should cause a slight tightening of the skin, which will accumulatively aid in promoting smoother, fresher skin. If your skin seems greasy and acne-prone we offer an all-natural toner to be used after cleansing. This helps to tone and tighten the skin, using natural flower waters. Third step moisturizing. You need only use a slight amount of moisturizer and be sure to massage it well into the skin.

Body care: Teen skin is especially vulnerable to hormonal changes, with the onset of puberty. No one wants to talk about it, but sudden changes in body odors can become embarrassing and upsetting for many, yet it is a natural body function.. The key, once again is to keep the skin clean. To just try and cover up the odor makes things worse. Using expensive anti-perspirants and deodorants seldom solve the problem. Most people think that antisperspirants & deodorants are the same thing, but in fact they work differently. Antiperspirants work by clogging, closing, or blocking the pores with powerful astringents such as aluminum salts so that they cant release sweat. (Note that aluminum can accumulate in the brain.) Since sweating isa natural cooling process for the skin, what happens when it is blocked and kept locked within the surface layer of the skin? More bacterial accumulations. Deodorants work by neutralizing the smell of the sweat and by antiseptic action against bacteria. Deodorants are preferable because they dont interfere with sweating which is a natural cooling process. Many plant extracts have natural deodorizing properties, and these are the ingredients we use at Karmakare.
