On the way down from Thorong La pass I soon regain my energy! After leaving the snow behind, I am confronted by a very dry and barren landscape The donkeys have the job of carrying most of the provisions to all the different villages on the circuit Gorepani (2750m) is famous for its Rhododendron forests which are in full bloom at this time of year. In some places the petals had fallen, so creating a red carpet on which to walk- beautiful! Watching the rain lashing against the hills in Gorepani At Gorepani is the very beautiful Poon Hill, from where I watched the sunrise I met these very colour co-ordinated nepalese kids on the way to Tirkhedhunga (1540m) Chicken for dinner? The World Peace Pagoda at Pokhara (820m)

If staying in Pokhara, I recommend the Banana Garden lodge which has a most beautiful garden and its own resident lizard The World Peace Pagoda at Pokhara Proud mum! Old Nepalese lady on the way to the World Peace Pagoda
