Arabs are semite people. They are descendants of the tribes that used to dwell in the southern parts of the Arabian Peninsula and in time spread out north. They are the "brother race" of the Jews as both trace their origin back to Abraham. While his elder son Ishmael married into the Arab tribes of Arabia forming the tribe from which the Prophet Mohammad came, his younger son Isaac married from Palestine and his children became the Children of Israel or the Jews.
Arabs as a people are proud, emotional and passionate. This is good and bad.
Arab pride is good because a true Arab refuses to back down no matter the odds. A true Arab fulfils his promise no matter what. A true Arab defends his guest even if he only saw him a minute ago. This Arab pride is the source for a lot of honorable and noble traits. On the flip side, Arabs are very tribal and very clan-like. It is common among them to boast of silly things like bloodlines and family trees.
Arab emotionalism and passion is also good in some aspects, they are highly loyal to their word. If their pride is slighted, they can take drastic measures. On the flip side.. Nowadays they seldom plot or plan an action, it just has to be loud and visible.
Arabs have contributed many things to humanity, but nothing is more beautiful than the Arabic language.
There are about 22 Arab countries in the world. They range from the Atlantic to the Arab/Persian Gulf, from East Africa to West Asia.
