Dictionary of Yaoi and the Unknown

Here are some terminologies you might encounter as you go through my website. All of these are according to MY understanding. It's not arranged alphabetically, though. Sorry... I'll try to fix it once I'm done with it.

Yaoi  Japanese term for homosexual relationship. This is actually an acronym for "yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi" which means "no climax, no point, no meaning". In anime/manga, guys do more than just kissing and hugging *wink*
Shounen Ai Literally means, "boy love". Similar to Yaoi but this is more mild. In anime/manga, scenes portrayed are just kissing and hugging.
Koibito Japanese term for lover.
Seme Means "top" or the dominant male in a relationship. This is also applicable during sex.
Uke Means "bottom" or the submissive male in a relationship. Applicable during sex.
Shounen Japanese term for an adolescent male
Bishounen Literally means "pretty boy". Japanese term for a feminine-looking male.
Ecchi Japanese term for "perversion"
Hentai Has explicit contents... sort of 'anime pornography'
Shota Love for young boys... similar to pedophilia but in some ways, the boy consents it ^^;;
Lemon Usually a category in fanfictions. Includes graphic descriptions of sex/ violence/ themes and anything not suitable for minors.
Lime A milder form of lemons. Also used in fanfictions.
Angst German origins; means apprehension/anxiety/ in a state of depression. Fics that usually contain death/rape or disturbing themes.
Sap Romance
Slash Western counterpart of yaoi. This means a relationship between two males OR two females.
Ai Japanese term for "love"
Citrus Milder than 'lime'. Also used in fanfictions.
