Train cards

Train cards were first introduced by the swedish railway company SJ (Statens Järnvägar) In 1983. The first cards was delivered by the english company Ankocard. Between 1988 and 1990 the cards was delivered by the swedish company NT Valueprint, exept for a short period of time, when the cards were delivered by the german company AllData, along with a special card reader. After theese testing periods, a card and card reader from the Irish company ABS were finally choosen. All Swedish train cards accur with a magnetic stripe, no chips. Until 1996 about 40 traincards were issued, all in the value types 10kr, 20kr, 50kr and 100kr. Other value types has occured on test and service cards.

 

Boat cards

The only swedish phonecards used on boats are the magnet striped cards, ordered from Landis & Gyr, Schwitzerand. Transtema ordered theese cards wich were used on the swedish passenger liner "Stena Line". As far as i know only 4 cards has been issued; two 120 units and two 240 units. All theese cards occurs in issues between 1100-10.000.
