MINISTRY OF MAGIC (M.O.M) CLASSIFICATION

The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures gives classifications to all known beasts, beings and spirits, offering a guide to the perceived dangerousness of a creature. Therefore if visitors are not confident with the handling of such creatures, if they happen to stray into the muggle world (such things tend to happen these days, what with You-Know-Who back and everything) then immediately call The Office of Misinformation. Phew! So, here they are as follows:

XXXXX - Known wizard killer. Impossible to train or domesticate.
XXXX - Dangerous, requires specialist knowledge. Skilled wizard may handle.
XXX - Competent wizard should cope.
XX - Harmless. May be domesticated.
X - Boring.
