9. Walter Vernon MCDONALD was born on MAY 21 1912 in Cheyenne, Wyoming - Laramie County. He appeared on the census in 1920 in Iron Mountain, Laramie County, Wyoming. He owned Homestead on NOV 17 1941 in Iron Mountain, Laramie County, Wyoming. He died on APR 1 1990 in Warsaw, Indiana. Walter enjoyed fishing a great deal.

Their was a neighbor rancher named Talbot and he was the game warden. Dewey had gone out a shot a deer and took it home and dressed it out (this was out of Season) a few days later, Walt and Ned were out trying to find rabbits to kill and a deer crossed their path too so Walt got out of the car and unloaded his gun into it and missed every shot, this really made him mad so it took Neds old Colt 22 short pump gun which was meant for shooting only rabbits and took one shot and hit that deer in the head and killed it, well they took it home and dressed it and Dad told Walt to go take the Hides and the Head down to the river and bury it so the warden would not know it was a recent kill. Well Walt I guess wanted to keep the Hides for something and the next day the warden came found the skins and arrested Dad, boy was he angry.

One night the kids got a wagon and took off with it to rob a neighbors still. Some were along the way Dad tells Aunt Gertie that when they got there everyone would have to take off their shoes and she was to lead.(but no one else took off there shoes) . Dad said she hit every stone rock or sticker and everything else you could think of. She just about killed them all when she got back for playing this joke on her. I don't know if they ever got the booze or not.
On the Ranch somehow they acquired a Shetland pony, well dad did not want anything on the ranch that did not do a days work. One day they dad said he was going out to milk cows and mom and dad also went out that way and there was dad on the back of this pony with his legs dangling, all dad said was Jolly Boy and went into the house. Mom and dad got a good laugh out of that.

He was married to Georgia, Anna GENSEL on AUG 25 1934 in Fort Lupton, Weld County, Colorado. Georgia, Anna GENSEL was born on DEC 20 1909 in Blue Springs, Nebraska. She died on SEP 7 1963 in Westminster, California, Orange County. At their marriage a Mrs J. A. Gensel was a witness, this must have been Georgia mother

Mom, Dad and another couple had been to town and had one to many to drink. Well as they come into a Meadow that went up to their house and they saw a deer, well dad wanted to shoot it. but no one had a gun but dad had a knife . Mom said Dad stopped the car got out on to the fender of the car and jumped onto the deer and cut its throat. He had on a new suit and never got a drop of blood on it..
Mom and Dad had a pet deer on their property and one day friends came over and then they heard a shot, and they know they had lost their pet, but they did give them the Bell that was around its neck.
Some Indians came up asked Dad if they could camp for a few days buy the creek, It had been very hot and dry for a long time, the Indians began beating on their drums and kept it up for a week-Then it rained, mom said she would not have believed it if she hadn't been there.`
Mom came to live on the Ranch and grandpa was looking forward to a good meal as their had been no one to cook for some time. Grandpa did not know Mom did not know what she was doing in the kitchen, as at home she had not worked inside but out side with her Dad, so not to let him down she began making bread, when they came in for dinner they couldn't wait to eat, they sat down to eat, the food was not very good, and then she went to get the bread and it was burnt to a crisp, grandpa said I really don't like German black bread, and no one even tried it.
Mom was getting pretty good at cooking now and decided to make some apple Pies. When they were done she put them out on the post to cool when she came back they were gone, nothing left but the pans, so she cooked some more and then put them out to cool and walked toward the barn and looked back and saw one of the horses heading for the pies, this horse never seems to like her and showed it allot. But after that the horse thought the pies were just for her and she really liked mom after that.
Dad came in one day with a horse he planned to brake ride and he spent weeks doing it. But the horse was not willing to settle down and Dad had had it. Dad and Mom went out and Dad saddled the horse and told Mom to open the gate, which he did not want to do, the horse took one look at the open gate and took off on a high run, it was well after dark when mom saw dad come riding back, dads shirt was torn and the horse was sweating wet all over Mom asked what had happened and dad said that horse took me through ever bush and tree he could find, so I grabbed a branch and every time he went near another tree or bush I hit him with the branch, I guess he thought the willow did it and gave up, that was my dad favorite horse his name was Collie..
Mom & Dad got married in town and came back to the ranch that night, the next morning Uncle Dewey came in and asked what was wrong, grandpa said dad had come home with some woman last night and they were still up there, so grandpa went upstairs and dad dove under the covers and Mom was left sitting up Grandpa said who the hell are you and Mom said who the hell are you and where was my son Walter. Then uncle Dewey heard Dad roaring with laughter, then dad started laughing under the covers and told his dad they had gotten married last night, I guess they all had a good laugh about it, after uncle Dewey got over being mad at them all.

He was married to Therese Jeannine POVICK on JUN 3 1961. Therese Jeannine POVICK was born on JUL 1 1940 in Chicago, Illinois. Walter Vernon MCDONALD and Therese Jeannine POVICK had the following children:
