My connection goes back to John and Sarah Jane (Sterling) Heidy who settled somewhere north of Scioto, Ohio, by 1819. Dustin descends from their oldest son John, and John used the Hidey spelling of the family name, though some of his children used Hidey and some used Hidey. I descend from Thomas Hidey, son of John and Sarah. I am a fourth cousin twice removed from Dustin. About twenty years ago I researched the Hidey/Hidey family. I
think it was Cheryl Holasek, a near cousin of Dustin's, who provided me information about that part of the family. David
