Bizarre Bridge Hand
At the last hand of a bridge tournament, a kibitzer is asked to sit in for a player who has been
called away for an emergency. The kibitzer says he knows nothing about playing bridge.
They tell him to “just bid what you got and follow suit.” He sits South and begins the following bidding sequence:

2S pass 3C pass
3H pass 4NT pass
7D Dbl pass pass

This is the deal:

South took the lead of the king of spades with the ace in the dummy, cashed the ace and king of trump,
came to his hand with the ace of clubs and played all his diamonds. On the last one, West was hopelessly
squeezed in hearts and spades, and ultimately discarded a heart, whereupon South made the last four
tricks in hearts. When the Opposition saw South's hand they called the Director, who asked South for an
explanation of his bidding. He got the following reply:
“I was told to bid what I got, I had one club, two spades, three hearts and seven diamonds”.
Karl, here is a man who knows the true value of bidding in bridge!!!
Have fun, see you Monday.
