The United Nations is a non-profit organization, which was developed in 1945 in order to set up a form of alliances on an international level.  Its purpose is to keep as many forms of government as possible focused on the benefit and well being of their peoples.  I have decided that I would like to work with the United Nations in focusing on human rights or humanitarian affairs.  I believe that I will be a great candidate for the Human Rights Officer position or the Humanitarian Affairs Officer position in the United Nations because I am strong willed, determined, and I have a passion for people in need of help.

In order to be a great officer in the United Nations I will further my education after high school.  I plan on going to a four-year university in New York.  I plan on getting my Bachelors Degree in political science.  After I receive my Bachelors Degree I will continue my schooling to receive a Masters Degree.  This will most likely take up to seven years of schooling in totality.  I also plan on being an intern during school.

After I receive my Masters Degree in political science I would like to work for USAID in order to fulfill experience qualifications I need to work in the United Nations.  USAID is based out of Washington, D.C.  At the end of five years service in USAID I will apply for the Human Rights Officer and the Humanitarian Affairs Officer positions in the United Nations.  These positions focus on presenting research and ideas on how to help people achieve rights and privileges.  If I am hired I will do my best to represent those who cannot stand up for themselves to the best of my ability.  I want to give them a chance at true freedom and happiness.

I know that I can be a great officer in the United Nations because I am determined to succeed and because I am a go-getter.  I am a level-headed person and I know that this is within my reach.  I may have high goals, but I fully intend to achieve them!
