Kariba Angling Basic History
Well there are those that thought the club was started in the recent past just for members to be able to enter KITFT but that is not true. Kariba Angling has been around a long long time, some 40 years in fact.
The club was started by a group of people interested in Angling/Fishing with a more recreational interest, than the competitive side.
Kariba was very young in those days, and you had to cut your camp out of the "bush", before you could go fishing. Motors were small (20 to 40 hp) in comparison to todays standards. Boats were mostly made from wood, with some being covered in Fibreglass outside (Fibre on Ply). They were more lethargic in their speed than today obviously, and the Sanyati Gorge was a long way away and a trip there was planned very carefully.
The club has come a long way since then, and we have many teams in the KITFT event, many of which acquit themselves very well, and the InterClub trophy has been mainly shared between ourselves and Ultra Light Tackle Club. The membership is very strong and the Annual AGM and Braai are always well attended showing the support of the club members.
There is now a basic "Trust League" underway and fish caught on the specified weekends are recorded at whatever venue fished, and sent in to the Chairman for the end of year results.
A Junior/Beginner booklet (which has already been used by a club in the Lowveld to issue to their juniors at a clinic held there), is available on line, and also downloadable in "pdf" format. Thus far the feedback has been good.

Well you have seen the intro, so now on to the pages that you want to see.
