Week 6- Y3(Apr 15th to Apr 21st)
Monday: Ben is back, and having completed his 2 years at Mcgill, is now a "master" of jazz! So, the end of the crazy commuting back and forth for him (although his wife and children are still in Canada). On the bus ride this morning, I regaled him with stories of my backpacking trip, and he regaled me with stories about his kids. I thought this was kind of weird: the office assistant handed me a paper all in Korean today. Ben translated it for me-- apparently all the professors are supposed to get a health check up every 2 years. So I guess I have to get a physical? I'm kind of curious about what they do with the results . . . why do they care anyway? Very strange.
Wednesday: Two nice surprises today-- first, my friend Annabelle decided that she wanted to join salsa class, so now I've got someone to conspire with between dance combinations. Second, I got a text from Charlotte saying that she was in Seoul and asking if we could meet for dinner (actually at first I wasn't even sure who it was, since it didn't come from her original phone number, and she only signed it CM!) Charlotte is leaving on Saturday to do some travelling through China and Mongolia on her way back to England. And while I'm sad to see her go of course, she has assured us all that she'll be back in September at the latest. I am incredibly jealous however, that she's going to be in Toronto in May visiting her sister, who is doing some kind of an internship there. (Though I suppose it's not going to be too long til I make my way home too . . .) Anyway, Charlotte has coincidentally chosen a restaurant right beside our dance studio, so after class, Annabelle and I went to meet Char plus her parents at Buddha's Belly for some Thai food. Afterwards, Jenny joined us for drinks at a great little restaurant/bar across the street. It turned out to be a fun and unexpected evening!
