Sunday:
This afternoon, I walked to Myeongdong to do some
shopping. One of the many great things about my new
place is that it's really central, and it's easy to
walk to a lot of places from home. The walk was
mostly uphill, as I had to walk around Namsan
Mountain, but spring is the most beautiful time of
year in Korea, what with all the cherry blossoms and
flowers, so I didn't mind the walk at all. Now if
only I could get rid of the yellow dust and the
pollution in Korea . . .

Monday:
Today Ben came over to help me learn how to use Finale, which is a
music writing program that will help to make my charts look more
professional than my hand-written charts. Holy crap, it is not the easiest thing
in the world to use! It's going to be a long learning curve . . .

Wednesday:
Tonight I met Drew and Nate and Garan for a jazz jam. Drew is hoping
to learn enough about jazz to go back to university in a jazz program,
and Nate and Garan want to diversify their skills a little bit. Whew,
rough going tonight! I've got my work cut out for me . . .

Thursday:
Bamboo Wife had a practise tonight for the Rolling Stones show that
we've committed to participating in. It wasn't going well at all, and
everyone got a little frustrated. So after band practise, we went to
Phillies and had a "band discussion". We're all clearly not happy with the
(lack of) direction for the band, and none of us are getting what we
want musically. So . . . we decided that after the Stones show, we're
going to go our separate musical ways. I'm so relieved! Garan and I
have been talking about this for ages, but neither of us had the guts to
bring it up, and finally everything's out on the table. We just never
really gelled together, and it's about time we all admitted it. And
thank god we don't have to play any more shows (other than the Stones
thing) that I'll have to feel embarrassed about. On to better projects!
