Tuesday:
There's no work tomorrow because there is an election.
Here, when people have to vote, they don't have to go
to work! So Summer decided to have a little dinner
party, which I joined after getting home from Iksan.
And then suddenly before we knew it, we were having an
actual party! Not too big, just our close friends,
but a whole lot of fun! It is SO nice to have a home
where we can actually have people over comfortably.
Anyway, by the end of the night, we ended up having
about 5 people crashing at our place, so it's a good
thing that we have lots of extra bedding too!

Wednesday:
A slow morning at the apartment! However, once
everyone was up and at it, it was buzzing with energy
(8 people trying to get dressed and caffeinated!).
Mark Baker was one of the people who crashed on our
couch. Recently he chopped off his longish curly hair
for an almost-buzzed look, and then spontaneously
decided that he wanted a mohawk. This morning, amid
all the bustle, Summer was trimming his hair in the
kitchen! The crowd thinned at our apartment, and
finally Garan, Summer, Mark and I went for breakfast
at Indigo. We had loosely planned to go to Suwon to
hike around a fortress wall, but unfortunately it
started to rain in the early afternoon, so our plans
were cancelled! Figures that everybody's day off
ended up being a rainy one . . . Just as well for me
though, as I ended up spending the afternoon rushing
to get a reference letter for my colleague Ben (more
about that another time!)
Later that night, I met up with the Grateful Dead crew
for a dinner in celebration of the shows being a
success. We had a nice meal at an Indian restaurant,
and then we went to Stompers for a drink. Sucks for
me though, I'm getting sick again! Not only was my
nose stuffed up and my throat sore, but I was feeling
nauseated and woozy. Grr! I just got better and now
I have a cold again!

Friday:
Sick and cranky, so just stayed in and watched a movie
with Bobby tonight. I was supposed to go to Osan to
meet Dary, the Puerto Rican guy, but I don't have the
energy tonight!

|
|
Saturday:
Tonight at salsa, I was disappointed to learn that the
Saturday class won't be doing the performance after
all, only the Tuesday class. Apparently someone
complained about having to do the performance. This
sucks, because I obviously can't do the Tuesday class
anymore! Helen and Joey are trying to create maybe a
Thursday night performance team too, pretty much just
to give me a chance to be onstage. I really really
need a permanent salsa partner . . .
After salsa, I stopped by Stompers to celebrate my
friend Anni's birthday.
