Tuesday (Oct. 21):
I'm in so much pain, I don't know what to do! I can barely walk these days, and since the MRI came up clean, I don't know how I'm supposed to fix it. I'm kind of at my wit's end right now.
I stopped by the dance studio tonight. I've really been missing hanging out with Joey, Helen and Chris, so it was therapeutic to see them, but kind of depressing to be in a dance space and unable to actually dance. On the upside, Helen is going to take me to the oriental hospital to try acupuncture on Friday.

Friday:
Helen met me this afternoon to take me to the oriental hospital. It was kind of cute, she was like my substitute mom. She came into the doctor's office to translate for me, and she was really protective anywhere we walked. So right now, my back is feeling a little better, but my knees are still absolutely destroyed. They're all swollen and liquidy and puffy, which is weird, and I can neither straighten nor bend them. So the doctor gave me some heat therapy for my back, and did the needles in my knees. Surprisingly, you can't really feel the needles going in at all. After he taps the needles in, you have to lie there for 15 minutes, then they put these weird suction cup things on that massage you for 15 minutes. I'm assuming it's for circulation or something? After that, they rub this tingly lotion on you, and then put a large heat pad over the site of pain for 15 minutes. All in all pretty painless, and best of all, only 5 bucks per session.
But did it help? I'm not really sure. It made my muscles feel a little better, but I still can't really walk.
At night, I had to go to Club Ta in Hongdae for the Grateful Dead tribute band gig. Man, was I struggling through the gig! It was so long, and standing for long damn near killed me. Fun to sing though. Not too big a crowd tonight, but I'm assuming that a lot more people will be out tomorrow night.

Saturday:
So apparently I'm supposed to go to acupuncture every day for the next little while. I guess it can't make anything worse anyway, even if it doesn't really make anything better. Maybe it takes a few times?
Another Grateful Dead gig at Freebird tonight. We had a really great high-energy show tonight, with a big, fun audience! Deadheads are hilarious. But once again, I was kind of dying through the show, and every chance I got, I went backstage to sit down. Now, Freebird is famous for really taking care of the band as far as drinks go. Since half of our band doesn't drink at all, that left Tommy, Nate and I with a full bottle of whiskey. Ha! Ironically, alchohol has been by far the best painkiller I've had so far! Anyway, it was a really fun night (and morning for that matter), that I desperately needed to raise my spirits a little.
